If you're looking for some more fantasy movies (particularly of the "sword & sorcery" type), you might really enjoy "Willow" from 1988. It's sort of "Lord of the Rings-lite." Also, there's "Stardust" from 2007, which is a little like "The Princess Bride" in that it's both tongue-in-cheek and sincere at the same time. :)

While I'm more or less OK with the movie, the dwarf/elf romance kills it for me every time it is on screen. Interracial relationships are fine IRL, but in Tolkien's world, this particular match is just ridiculous. Considering that the broship between Legalos and Gimli required surmounting a huge history of racial conflict and distrust, this addition to the story (and, yes, it was made up just for the movie, including the character Tauriel) was just facepalm-level annoying. I mean, in REAL Tolkien lore, there is actually deliberate conflict between the races BUILT INTO THEM at the time of the creation of the dwarves. That is what makes the friendship between Gimli and Legalos such a special, remarkable thing. Same with Gimli's adoration of Galadriel's beauty. Those things are cheapened by this relationship wedged into "The Hobbit".
