What's even more ridiculous about the all the college talk is all the schools they talk about are all super expensive private schools.

There will be lots of talk from other people about the Davie situation so I'll talk about other things. Side note, the guy who played Davie, Robert Patrick, played the bad terminator in Terminator 2. I think the conversations Dr. Melfi has with Tony are interesting because it is as if we are watching a fictional character get interviewed to see what they are thinking. It is also a great way to deliver exposition with out it being too in your face or obvious. As for the women in Tony's family and in general. Men are physical and we approach life thinking that way where as woman are emotional and approach life in that manner. The best example of this is high school. When guys have a disagreement they fight but when girls have a disagreement they trash talk and spread rumors. If you look at a bunch of rulers through out history you will often find a woman behind the male ruler who has just as much power because she can 'whisper' in the ear that matters. There is an old saying, "A man is the head of the house hold but a woman is the neck." This saying is extremely evident when Janice is talking to Richie about how Tony 'only' gave him fifty grand. Janice is drawing Richie's attention to how she thinks he got short changed.
