As @Ootlander has mentioned, this episode was and is huge for anybody who watches TV now and who watch The Sopranos for the first time. I'll concentrate on the latter because @Ootlander did the former. Most people who see this episode find it as the episode which frames Tony's and Carmella's characters and relationships. You see how Tony balances, for the most part, his mafia 'family' and his actual family. Tony's diligence is also on display by not writing down the license plate and making sure he is 'punishing' the right person and not an innocent. As for Carmella, you get glimpses into who she is in previous episodes but this episode puts on full display she will got to almost any length to get what she wants no matter the cost. In Tony's and Carmella's relationship you see Tony doesn't tell Carmella much not only for legal reasons, accessory after the fact, but also because she assumes the worst from Tony. Carmella on the other hand tells Tony everything and he doesn't believe her because how outlandish it seems.

haha, and the “monsignor Jughead” comment is a really good joke about the priest… Jughead is a comic character who is always hungry and eating. And Mario Cuomo was the Governor of New York, the highest position possible, and Meadow was using that as a counter to “Italians not having opportunity” Part of the wonderful charm of watching along is seeing these fly right over your head. hehe
