Land Striders (Patreon)

In FDO:IAST, Land Striders are known also as 'Sky Cities' that hover around the globe with inhabitants that ride on their backs. The huge beasts don't make noises or have any brains, they only rely on one thing, filtering the air for particals and photosynthesis to keep them alive. They have been known to be floating since the dawn of time according to many, perhaps being immortal beings. 

The Land Striders move their tail ever so slowly in an up & down lotion like a whale to propel them forward. Relying on the heat that rises, winds and turbulence to keep them a float. Their underbelly is furry like, full of moss, vines, long grass exceeding 600 feet long, which traps the condensation deep within the dense grasslands, bringing rainfall over wherever they migrate over. 

There are 7 Sky Cities in total that exist, them measuring to be 2,680 miles horizontally and 1,580 miles long, taking them aproximently 2 weeks or so for them to pass over the continent. It then takes a few months for them to disappear out of view into the distance. 

The inhabitants of the Cky Cities commonly appear to dress in clothes that closely resembles the renaissance, Ancient Rome, or medieval times. The architecture of the buildings look similar to Ancient Rome. Different materials from quartz, marble, gold, and spruce wood are used for majority of the structures and roads. 

The original inhabitants of the Land Striders are still present to this day within and around the city. Some have been trained and many more are kept as pets, due to their docile nature, curiousity and loyalty. The creatures are known as 'Moss Wyverns'.
