Duo Poll - August 2020 (Patreon)

It’s time for this month’s Duo poll. I’ve spent the last 3 hours narrowing down the options to my preferred 5 suggestions and creating this poll. Preferred in this case means options that I have a clear idea for or am the most excited by this month. I will also be including my own sixth option, to shake things up. Character previews will be at the bottom of the post, for those unfamiliar with certain characters.

As usual I loved all the suggestions this month. When picking these characters you guys are straight fire. When I began the suggestion threads I had nightmares that I would be redrawing the same character (s) over and over endlessly but you have proven me wrong and given me a wide range of options again and again, Thank you all for helping the art get made. :)

This poll will last for one week, and work will begin the following Wednesday. You can vote on as many or as few options as you like. Hopefully this let's me see which option is wanted by the most people. So please pick your favourite and your backup favourites, at the least.

Ties will be decided by my beloved Giant Twenty Sided Dice. Mighty is the Dice, hallowed be it’s sides.

Joe and Nicky (Yusuf Al- Kaysani and Nicolodi Genova) - The Old Guard

I won’t speak much on Joe and Nicky in case I spoil the plot for anyone who hasn’t seen the movie on Netflix, but we stan an open and out canonically gay couple who have been together a long time and are each badasses in their own right. They have a clear love for each other and the movie does a good job of conveying that.

Cor Leonis and Gladiolus - Final Fantasy XV

Gladiolus is a main and beloved hunky character from FFXV. He is a member of the Crownsguard and childhood friend of Prince Noctis. Cor Leonis is a guest character in one of their DLCs and early on in the main story. He’s a katana wielding fighting prodigy and the loyal Marshal to the Crownsguard.

Archie and Aqua Admin Matt - Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald

Key characters in Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire as part of the villainous Team Aqua. A beloved pair of fan favourites for years.

Drax and Thanos - Guardians of the Galaxy

The Mad Titan and Drax the Destroyer have never been drawn by me. A part of Drax made it into a pic and Thanos got merged with Hellboy for last October’s Monster MashUps but I have never drawn them seperately, let alone together. No one hates Thanos more than Drax, but that can sometimes make things more interesting.

Black Panther and M’Baku - Black Panther

Few things are as powerful as former rival leaders overcoming their differences to do what is right for their people. Any game of thrones is interesting but the Wakandan flavour left us asking for more.

Captain Cold and The Ray - Arrowverse [Earth 1 and X]

Wentworth Miller and Russel Tovey, both out actors, played husbands Leo Snart and Ray Terill in the Arrowverse’s Crisis on Earth-X. We love a married gay superhero couple from different universes coming together to overthrow nazis.
