August 2019 Newsletter (Patreon)

This month was the first month of the new tiers. Did you like them? Hate them? Am I missing something obvious? Let me know in the comments below.

The Illustrations this month were: Nathan Drake smuggling an Ancient Sumerian....Artefact, He-man and Pantheon. This month’s poll winner was Professor Hulk and Bulk Thor. The Platinum Bonus image set was Hobbs and Shaw. 

It is obvious, at least to me, that the increased cohesion between the styles of the various pics that I worked on this month indicate that I am zeroing in on my preferred style at long last. Sketching, inking, and even colouring have become faster and easier. I have made some errors in judgment this month and I have created some stuff I really love as well. I don’t think any artist is ever 100% happy with what they do but I am usually much much prouder of myself lately.

It’s been over a year of drawing every week and even though I might say it too often, I could not have gotten here without Patreon and the support of all of you. It’s the freedom to know that I can experiment and work on anything that has allowed me to grow. I appreciate it. Even if this is the last month I will see some of you on here as patrons, please know that I am grateful to all patrons past, present and future. 

As for Doc Wottsit. I played with many designs. Wrote a script for the mini comic prologue. Sketched a storyboard and inked a page. I worked on world building and a glossary.

Overall it was a very good month to start the new Doc inclusive tiers with. Very happy.

This month I started a new fixed schedule. As a result the He-man pic was completed a little too close to the end of the month and I want to make sure that everyone gets the links and has time to download them, which is why I sent them out in direct messages to patrons. I know I have attached the link to each picture this month, but I would rather be safe than have someone miss out, or feel they had to pledge to me next month to get the things they missed which they should have had a chance to download.

The links will stay active until the end of September. July’s links will become inactive tomorrow. Platinum Patrons discount code will become inactive tomorrow. A new one will be issued once the payment cycle is completed.
