The promised chatty post! Let's talk for a moment. (Patreon)

Hey everyone.

As promised yesterday I wanted to take the time and sit down to talk a little bit about the next steps as we advance with the VN project now on the scene.

What it means for you as someone who already subbed, what my plans are for it, and all that good stuff. Basically some housekeeping!

What will change?

Honestly? Most likely not a whole lot? I even realized that myself today as I restructured the Patreon tiers earlier.
Basically, if you are here for the art and only for the art then it goes one of two ways.
Either the VN fails and everything basically stays as it is, commissions get made, and you get the stuff you already get.

Or the VN becomes successful enough to become my main focus, and what has been commissioned art beforehand will become art for the Visual Novel.

Either way, art will happen!

What is the plan going forward?

Right, so the plan for the near future, let's say 3 months or so is to see how the Visual Novel does. Some are very successful, others probably fly under the radar and well, I've no idea where I stand with my project.

Good? Bad? Who knows.

So probably for the next 3 months, it'll be a wait-and-see period. What is the interest, does it translate to people actually wanting to support this thing or what? Basically getting a feel for the temperature in the room, once the room is bigger than just you here on Patreon who had access to it so far.

After that, I'll have to re-evaluate what to do from there.

Will it get its own Patreon?

Nope. I'm not sure if it's the cleanest way of doing it. Do I do it under the Nomax name? Do I push the Conway one to have a clean, obvious thing for it? I've thought about it over the past several days, but I think it makes the most sense to have it under one umbrella.

Doing another Patreon just means added work on my part just to manage an additional thing. More work on my taxes, more payments coming in, and all that boring managerial stuff that I would have to sift through.
And in the end, it would just cannibalize both of them. One doesn't get the art, the other doesn't get the VN.

No good.

So it'll all stay here and you'll get everything.

Okay, but that means:

Changes to the Patreon tiers?

Everything art-related stays as it is. No changes there. What I did clarify now is what each tier gets in regards to the Conway VN project. So let's get to that!
2$:
Gets sneak peeks and teases for upcoming updates. Basically some little bits and pieces about characters, maybe some cropped art, etc.
5$:
Gets a 1-month advance build of the game. (This might be slightly less at the beginning as I don't want to leave it too dormant right at the start either. So it might be 2 weeks the first time, then 3 weeks, then the full month or so.)
And also the high-resolution files for the Art in the game. + of course the full art treatment there with step by steps and all that good stuff.
10$:
Gets the PSD files for said art as well.
And access to game-related polls. (e.g. about which character route to work on in a given month, which scene to paint, etc.)
Feedback tier:
Stays the same as it is and of course as with all tiers gets the stuff from the tiers below it.


And I think that should do it for now.
I hope this will give you all a bit of a better understanding of how I imagine this to go and what to expect.
