A character in one of the storylines: Secrets Of The World.

Demitri Popov was an only child born in Pennsylvania to 2nd generation parents of Russian descent. His parents both died in a car accident when he was a senior in high school. He was eighteen at the time and was able to complete school, then go to college.

Demitri enrolled in college, completed his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, then went to The University of Iowa and completed his PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology. From there, he went directly to a job doing criminal forensics which led him to an FBI position.

After a few months, his FBI boss spoke to a Deputy Assistant Director of the CIA and mentioned Demitri. The discussion was short; DAD Cal Davis interviewed Demitri there on the spot. A few days later, they talked over bag-lunches in the park and Cal came to a decision.

Demitri had no parents, no siblings, and had been through various relationships over the course of his life, but nothing had lasted. He was unconnected. He was, aside from his work relationships, sailing solo through life.

The CIA paid off his minimal personal debt, arranged for him to “win” an all-expense-paid trip to Venezuela where he “died” unexpectedly. Thus, he ceased to exist and became a deep-secret scientist. Eventually, he was put on Natalie Erstellen’s team.

In addition to his PhD, Demitri also is trained as a paramedic and a registered nurse (RN). He provides services to the team as a medic as well as doing lab work. He also has qualified in weapons as is needed for any covert missions.
