Oh don’t you worry, this is an epic battle between good and evil and not for the bromance. You’ve been wanting plot, The Untamed is plot. 50 episodes of it. You might want to put it in your double a week slots or you will be reacting to it for the next 2 Years 🤣. That seems intimidating, but promise, it will keep you entertained and go faster than you think. You are correct about the bromance. The original Wuxia (I think that’s what it’s called, webtoon essentially) is a BL, but to make it productional for China TV, it was made into a “bromance”, but the chemistry and story line for the 2 male leads is so well written you’ll understand they are way deeper than a lot of BLs out there with little plot and just physical chemistry. Just my opinion 🙂. Glad you found the trailer epic at least. Have a wonderful week!

YES!!! it's a BL - adapted from a novel , it's a bit censored but it's very obvious that it's ... u know fruity....... one of the main leads is a former kpop idol (Wang yibo) ! it's so so cool I hope you'll get to it ^^ 💓

this is an amazing drama. You should totally watch it, the story is very good. I stumbled upon it on you tube and i loved. It is being adapted from a bl novel, however i liked it much more than the actual novel.

I'm so happy y'all checked this out! The Untamed is based on a novel called The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation. In the novel the two main characters Lan Zhan and Wei Ying are very much in love with each other. In the show it is never explicitly said but I think the team behind the show did a very good SHOWING that they love each other through the characters actions and the way they look at each other. China is very strict on censorship especially about LGBT type media. The novel as well as the show was/is extremely popular to the point that the novel has been translated into english and is being sold at barnes & noble! They have also released a manga of the series that is also being sold at barnes & noble. There is also an anime! About the "reputation" part Wei Ying was telling Lan Zhan that his reputation will be ruined if he goes with him because Wei Ying practices a form of cultivation or (for lack of a better word) magic that is frowned upon in their world, Demonic Cultivation. I will say that the show is very long but I find the plot to be very compelling. The show really grips you because you see who the characters are currently and then it shows you how they came to be this way. It's very much an epic fantasy story!

Omg I really hope you guys check out The Untamed!! It is a bromance due to Chinese TV restrictions, however the original book is a bl story. There is a force somewhat similar to magic in this series and one of the main characters Wei Ying is using a type many consider dark or demonic. This show is one of my absolute favorites after Bad Buddy! It is very epic with a lot of lore and action scenes. It is just overall very beautiful. It is a very long series with 50 episodes. (Many Chinese dramas are like this in my experience) It can be a bit confusing but I'm sure us commenters will try to answer all your questions. I really hope you give this one a go!

Wei Ying and Lan Zhan are those kinds of characters that are so dear to me that I think are gonna be part of my life forever. I watched the drama before I read the novel, so I think that helped a lot to not get confused while reading. This series also has an animated adaptation that has AMAZIMG animation, so if you happen to get obsessed with the drama as the rest of us when you watch it in the future, it would be awesome if you watch the animated series as well!

OMG THE UNTAMED IS ONE OF MY FAVE DRAMAS! not kidding I have watched this show like 8 times in the past 4 years.. Chinese bls are usually filmed more as "bromances" due to censorship.. bl web novels are highly popular but are always rewritten as bromances for TV, and the bl is mostly in the subtext but requires knowledge of like gay symbolism in china... i would say though that this is a show that reeeeeally requires one to pay attention in order to be able to fully understand everything. a lot of stuff also makes more sense if you actually research stuff from the novel.. ofc you can still watch the show without doing all that, but it really does require focus and attention, as there is a lot going on and a lot of time skips and characters and relationships to keep track of..

Please react to this! It’s so good. It can get confusing a little, and you might have trouble remembering all the names, but I watched the anime this is based on first which helped a lot. But you probably don’t have time to add in the anime for this. Either way though, I will respect your decision about whether or not y’all want to watch this.

This trailer was a good choice to give you a glimpse of how epic this drama is and it's an emotional roller coaster. So worth watching, it represents love of all kinds; lovers, friends, family and so much more. The original novel (Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation/Mo Dao Zu Shi) was a BL and they had to tone it down for the series, BUT it doesn't go unnoticed!! Also, the cast is *chef kiss* and the chemistry is outta this world.

I love this drama so much!!!! I really hope it wins the 2nd BL poll🤞🤞. It's not explicitly a BL, but it's more than obvious that the relationship between the two main characters is not just bromance (even though it's called so due to censorship). I know that you guys have been talking about wanting to watch shows with more action and drama. This is it, albeit it's a bit long. It has action (lots of it), drama, friendship, "bromance", adventure, and morally grey characters. I promise that you won't get bored watching this at all!
