One thing to keep in mind with Thai BL dramas, in general, is that they ALWAYS have some kind of obvious product placement (I can't wait until you get to the Cannon Printer product placement and the inhaler one)...and they use the same locations over and over. I can tell you that there are like 3 houses that show up in SOOO many Thai BLs that they almost have their own fandom :) Some of the troupes you'll see in this BL - Architecture and Engineering Students are rivals (and the "main" students, i.e.. Student President or most popular, fall in love) Medicine and Business are other faculties that get mixed in a lot. Music - a lot of the BL actors are also musicians (they even have concert-like fan meets), and believable storylines are out the window as the premise is just to create tension. So you'll have to just take it with a grain of salt because it's just shoehorned in to get them from point A to B in the storyline. Also, there will be a lot of familiar faces as you continue your BL journey as the actors are used a lot, especially within their companies, so many of the actors in this drama are in other GMMTV shows. Side Note...I love some of the T-shirts that Pat wears in this series...in this one...the "I would rather Hunt with Dick Chaney than Ride with Ted Kennedy"...cracks me up every time. (If you need this explained...I'll understand, but will judge you). One of my favorite Mafia BLs is Not Me. I love the main leads and the twist in the storyline is wonderful. Another is Love in the Air, which is like a mix between Bad Buddy and Not Me, cute student stuff with mafia/dangerous adult stuff. I like KinnPorche too, but if you do that next, keep in mind that it will be like going from 0 to 100. I would rate Semantic Error and Roommates at a 10, Bad Buddy at maybe 20, and KinnPorche at 100. Not Me would maybe be around 45/50, Love in the Air at like 75. Just saying... You might want to watch a Trailer before jumping in blind😶 so you know if you're up for it (no pun intended).🤣 ❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗❗And darn you...I need the Astro Guide!

there's so much I wanna add - bare with me !!!!! okay so the guy working in the shop at the end selling medicine is actually the director of the series p'aof !! iconic imo for better ways to watch the series I recommend watching it on youtube for free from the company themself (gmmtv) s youtube channel , but I can understand why that might be difficult >< also just some extra fun - I was obsessed with this series for quite a while, I actually have a tattoo inspired by it !! it's the ) : ) symbol that you see all the time ^^

Hey so, when I ventured into the content that is BLs. I started with Korean ones, then found the gems that are the Thai BLs. All the ones that you guys wanna watch I highly recommend you do! Most of my faves are on that list you gave. Funnily enough if you want MORE Bad Buddy after you finish this show, there were special episodes made just this year. To clarify, actually the special eps were made under the umbrella of a series called Our Skyy 2. more clarification of Thai BLs as well. It is very much of a "ship" industry, for example if you are paired with another actor in a show that does well, you most likely will not be getting another partner in your shows for a while. That show The Eclipse you guys should watch, the shipped pair there, they have not really been paired with anyone else in a main show since that show. You are also going to see a lot of overlap of actors especially from this company GMMTV. In the Our Skyy 2 episodes of Bad Buddy, it is a crossover with another show that I think you guys should watch, A Tale of A Thousand Stars, and funnily enough the ponytail guy from this show(Drake), is in A Tale of A Thousand Stars as well. Just to answer Kevin's question about the faculties, basically it's their majors in college, some examples would be the Faculty of Business or Faculty of Arts that kind of thing so not necessarily a Frat but treated similarly, David got that correct! 😁

I really enjoyed watching your reaction to this first ep, it's been awhile since i watched this for the first time myself, so a rewatch is fun! Also i really do hope that you guys check out Kinnporsche in the future tho, it's one of my faves, i feel like it's just on another level compared to other thai BL drama. Hope you'll enjoy bad buddy for now tho, it's good too!

The product placement on Thai dramas is a whole genre on its own haha They'll grow on you and when dramas don't have commercials, you'll even miss them 😂 I'm glad you guys are having a good time! I've watched a lot of Thai BL dramas and I think Bad Buddy has a great balance between comedy, romance and chemistry between the characters. It's one of my faves, so I hope you have as much fun as I did when I first watched it!

heyy. Before you started watching bls I never thought I would see you react to a thai show, but it's really awesome that you are branching out. I do think this drama is a great introduction to the genre. It definitely references romeo and juliet (or gnomeo if you please lol) with the family feud and colour, but that pretty obvious hehe. The drama has many twists and turns and the development of the characters is so wholesome and funny. Plus get used to very obvious and corny ad placement, it only gets better from here. Yes you will be hearing more about your favourite printer haha. But its one of the iconic parts of these dramas fans love to poke fun at. Also I know people mentioned it but PLEASE watch the drama on the GMMTV youtube channel. Each episode is split into four but the quality is better and you wont have issues with the subs. I think it will be interesting if you do end up watching more bl series as you will get very acquainted with certain actors and notice them in different dramas, especially if you watch more produced by GMMTV as they produce so many. I swear I see the man with the eyebrows - pats friend (drake) in so many lol. Anyway, I love the director P'Aofs work and coming back to watch this drama after such a long time makes me remember the feelings of wanting to watch the show again for the first time. Also Im very sorry for the long comment. I know you have a lot to go through rip.

-awwww I can totally tell this is y’all’s first ever ever Thai BL. Baddy buddy is a great one to start off with. It’s funny and sweet and very easy to be engaged. My favorite part about Thai shows besides the sexy main characters are the funny product placement and commercials.

I am so glad you guys like the show. It's one of my favorite BL shows when it comes to chemistry and the plot isn't too serious or too silly. And although it is a show that does have a lot of tropes/plots that we are familiar with, it also gets away from the tropes that I despise that are in a lot of thai bls. I will point them out as they come but I do love the show a lot. I do not watch a lot of non BL thai shows but most of them that I have seen do have the theatrical (?) directing choice with a lot of different music choices that goes with the scene, and it is something you have to get used to but I do like it. And as others mentioned, you're not gonna get away from the ads. You just have to find the humor in them and take it as it comes, now the more obnoxious it is the more I love the ad placements. Anyways, Hope you enjoy the show!

Aaaaa Bad Buddy!! It's one of my absolute favorites! I'm so glad we're getting more bls and I can't wait for more. Thai bls are pretty different from Korean bls, but each country that does bls is different. Thai has the more spicy bls. Since bls are very popular in Thailand there are a lot to see! Also when I first showed this series to a friend she told me the faculty rivalry made sense. Apparently there's a saying that an architects dream is an engineers worst nightmare. I always thought that was funny and probably true.
