the woman sieun met with at the restaurant is his mother (you can hear when she talks she refers to herself as "eomma", but the subs obviously didn't translate it that way. it's like she would have said "let's go, mom has a meeting"). the one he always watches videos of because she is a teacher and she makes educational videos (i think she was teaching math when they showed her, they panned to a photo of them together next to the computer in like episode 1 or 2). her and the dad are divorced and she seems to not be very present in sieun's life. the group he was with at the bar knows beom seok is rich. in the first episode when he transfered they asked him where he came from and when he said the school they all went "wooow, he's a rich kid". he came from a rich school in a rich part of town. i feel like the subs here don't do justice to how aggressive they talk in this show. they're throwing curses out every 2 seconds but the subs left everything out lmao. i prefer the subs on viki (although i'm biased because i sub for them), they're a lot more raw and not as watered down as the ones here.

I'm gonna be writing this comment while I watch and answer your questions or things you looked confused about without spoiling much, because motivations and power dynamics are really important from this episode on, but also, I don't want to influence you or accidentally change your point of view on your theories with my comments and my knowledge of the future haha So I'll only mention what you have seen or what has been shown on the episode and nothing more. In the first couple of episodes, Bumseok (the glasses guy), Suho and Sieun made their groupchat to talk to each other after they became friends. Bumseok went to insta, followed Suho and went to the groupchat and asked Suho to follow him back. Now, on this episode, you see Bumseok surprised that Suho mentioned Youngyi (the girl) and how close they've become in such a short time. Then on the day they were gonna hang out, when he is getting ready, he checks insta, he notices that Suho hasn't followed him back yet, so he checks his follows and notices Suho had just like 5 follows, but the only "person" he follows is Youngyi. And then he goes into Youngyi's insta and sees she and Suho already have a bunch of pics together, but Suho is yet to follow back Bumseok. Now, fast forward to (43:15) When Bumseok is hanging around with the bullies of his current school at the club after the beating of his past school bullies, the bully asks for Bumseok's insta almost immediately after they start to hangout and even they already posted a pic and tagged him. He then goes into Suho's profile, sees he still hasn't followed him back yet, and then proceeds to unfollow him. Just as katsu mentioned, the woman at the fancy restaurant is his mom. I'm also not sure why they didn't put the word "mom" on the subs, since they mentioned the word like 3 times during their conversation haha And just as katsu said, it's such a shame the subs don't translate the bad words. It adds so much more context to the character's dynamics, like for example, you are given the impression since the beginning that Bumseok is quiet and good spoken thru the show, but when Bumseok enters the karaoke room (20:04) and sees that the girl answered his phone, he literally said "crazy bitch" and "shit" to her. That's why everyone was taken a back cause like...they just met and he's cursing at her and being aggressive. And practically after that, every time Bumseok speaks in any scene, he curses lol It was a big shift in his character and I know it's obvious by his actions, but I just wanted to highlight that also his speech changed "overnight" as well. Also something that's not pointed out, but might be important to note out (again, you notice these things by the way the characters speak more than anything, so I point this out because the subs don't do enough justice) the way Suho speaks, many times almost sounds like he is giving orders or commands, not in an offensive way or anything, but might sound a little aggressive. He means well of course, but that's just how what he says is delivered. On the other hand, Sieun is more "softspoken" in the way he delivers questions or suggestions, making his speech sound more gentle or considerate. Also, I think it's an important pointer to discuss later that Suho at this point has stopped both Sieun and Bumseok once from "going too far", Sieun was on the first episode, and Bumseok on this episode (36:36), but as you saw, Bumseok did not take that well. I think this episode is the turning point of the series, it has been building up under our noses and actually makes more sense after a second watch, but still either way... buckle up boys, cause the ride is gonna be INSANE.

So basically off this episode Bumseok feels like he’s being left out by Sieun and Suho or being replaced by Yeongi he also feels that Suho looks down on him and orders him around like his old bullies use to do that’s why his attitude has changed towards Suho. Also I don’t know if this was mentioned but Suho has this thing about “not crossing the line or not going to far” that’s why he says that whenever someone is about to go to far basically. Also I never usually comment because I don’t like to but I just felt like those were some important details.

I cannot Express how much I enjoy your reactions. Anytime I'm watching something new, I always imagine how your reactions would be, and I'm so glad that I could finally stop imagining your reactions and actually see them. Yall are super funny and very relatable and always make the reactions enjoyable. Although I would like to see Weak Hero as a full-blown bl, I think the subtle undertones throughout the series is really nice. My favorite Korean bl of all time is The Eighth Sense.
