You're right. Chen's second album's definitely gonna be sweeter and more lovey-dovey hahaha. April and A Flower is an album for breakup with Dear My Dear is for new love.

Random thought: You should react to exo and btob moments - D.O and hyukshik are actually really close friends they went to school together. They debuted in the same year, so they're really close. Also, Chanyeol sang an OST for Goblin, which Sungjae from BTOB starred in. Just a fun fact. OH YEAH, you should totally check out thier OST's as well. They're Amazing!!!

To sort out your confusion on the timeline of events: Chen announced the news January 2020, so it was after both his albums and exo album. He got married privately some time later with just family and close friends I believe and then his daughter was born a couple months after.

tbh i never really love the fast songs on the japanese albums (I think ka ching is my fave). I guess they're made to be more likable for jpop listeners? so they don't sound like what I prefer, and what brought me to kpop. But what I love consistently in them are the ballads. They sound like emotional anime ending themes.

that's why april and a flower had a really good male listener % haha all the men who went through heartbreak found anthems for all types of break ups - the bad, the completely broken, the resigned, the well-wishing, etc. Honestly, I'll Be There, to me, sounded like something that would comfort or bring sorrow to someone whose lover lost his/her life.

I'm so torn about which concert I want them to do, I want them to do the last one with Paper Cuts but I loved the first version of the concert especially the live of Cry in that one. I wish they could do both!

April and a flower is such a excellent album. it's great for those deep depressive periods to just put on repeat.
