I just finished watching the Growl MV reaction and you were talking about the sequence...but you missed the whole Debut stuff~ Their debut song is MAMA. They had 2 pre-debut releases - History and What is love - which also had music videos. That came out first before this XOXO album. These are all in the MAMA EP. Okay, now back to your album review :)

Wolf is an acquired taste for me too. But Wolf live is something else!!!The Remix version in Exordium in Japan is GOLD! Some of the songs might be so cringy for you guys lol. But please understand this was released in 2013 when EXO are like babies. lol...

XOXO and Baby are my faves from this album but Angel really is what made me fall hard for Exo and that's on their Mama EP. Their next release is Overdose mini album. Maybe combine a EP with the mini album together?

Hey, great reaction. Glad to see you enjoying yourselves and things (mostly) working for you. Your energy was good. The EP is worth checking out, as are their pre-debut singles. May I suggest if you do those though that you check out the EXO-M version, at least for the MAMA MV (they've the same concept but are quite different) also it would be nice to see Lay, Xiumin and Chen a bit more in your reactions, and apart from the Growl, and Wolf MVs, you don't see then except in the EXO-M versions. The Wolf & Growl MVs and concepts are definitely tied, Wolf tells a bit of a Beauty & the Beast-esque love story from the perspective of a werewolf which carries through a bit in the lyrics of Growl. There's also a two part mini-film that they did to promote the album that follows the story of a werewolf (played by Luhan, a former member). The outfits worn in the Growl MV seem to be reminiscent of their school uniforms in that. Anyway, great job, and good luck with your future reactions.

Great reaction! 'My lady', 'It's my turn to cry', 'Hurt', and 'Exodus' are some of my favorite songs. I feel they are underrated and need more exposure...

Oh it's a shame no one explained baby don't cry to you guys!! It's based off of the original little mermaid tale where she must kill the prince with a knife while he is asleep, or when the sun rises she will dissolve into foam. In exo's song, the prince (exo members) wakes up and convinces the mermaid to kill them (the prince). The chorus lyrics [Baby don’t cry tonight. When the dawn lights the skies, it will be as if nothing ever happened. You will never dissolve into foam, for my love is with you forever. So baby don’t cry cry] show a basic idea of what the story is but if you have time I really recommend reading the lyrics again with this story in mind :D

Also (I'm p sure???)Kevin was right! 'Cold laughter' does mean fake laughter. The prince is saying that he'd rather see the mermaid fake a smile than to cry as he wants her to forget about him

It was mentioned before but you guys missed History and What is Love which were predebut songs and you also missed their debut song and album. Along with that you missed their 2nd mini album which had the music video Overdose in it. If you search Exo albums on Spotify the first album is XOXO, but they used to be EXO-K and EXO-M before they just put all the Korean and Chinese albums for just EXO, so you have to search EXO-K to get their first 2 albums that they released. I hope that makes sense

What I mean is EXO-K members used to only sing with EXO-K and EXO-M with EXO-M, but later all 12 members appeared in music videos together and they all sang together so they just combined them all into one Spotify page instead of 2. But they already released some on the separate pages. Sorry if any of this is confusing

You guys should definitely check out their debut EP (which has MAMA, History and What Is Love as MVs), I think it has about 5 or 6 songs but it has the most important songs about their concept. You can definitely see some references here and there in the song lyrics from each song and I think it'd be really interesting to see you guys react to it!

cant wait for your reaction to Countdown album. its my favorite album.. in this one, i love Peterpan. i truly relate to the song and peterpan is my all time favorite fictional character. probably bec this is their first album and they were so tiny then, that's why their songs are like, cutesy type of songs.. please see the love stages. its a lot lot better live.. thank you for what you do.. be safe.

Their early music had a lot more R&B, and since they were split into EXO-K and M, Baekhyun used to do the high notes and D.O. did the R&B runs for EXO-K. I loved this album when it released because of my music listening behavior. I mostly listen to music while studying, while resting, or when I'm in a relaxed mood. Many EXO-Ls are probably the same. I also believe their albums are structured to really be turned into a concert setlist. Heart Attack was perfect for a VCR, even if it's too chill for an actual performance. Lucky, Peter Pan, XOXO, Don't Go are very repeatable (for the yearly concerts) because they're songs meant for fans. So as EXO and the fandom grow older, there are more shared memories and the nostalgia in these songs grow. If they perform them in their 20th anniversary, pretty sure EXO-Ls would be crying just thinking about our youth.

Let Out the Beast and Lucky have also been part of their club sets (with significant arrangement changes), while My Lady is part of the Acoustic Medley! Also, Kyungsoo’s always had shor hair because he played as a soldier in Along With the Gods 1&2 and completely shaved his hair for Swing Kids where he played a North Korean soldier. He acts and promotes as EXO simultaneously, so you see that he has shaved hair in some of their promotions...

Growl is honestly considered the unofficial anthem for South Korea. There's a long-running joke that if you're in South Korea and don't know the song, you're a spy from North Korea. The lyrics for Growl are hilarious and kind of makes more sense when you realize those "suits" they're wearing in Growl are actually high school uniforms. It's like high school bad boys trying to protect /guard their girl. LOL
