Loved your guys' reaction as always!! You guys should also listen to the audio version because it's completely different. You hear their voices much better and it has a trappy beat to it, similar to Fake Love (in a way). The sound for the art film was meant to match the whole vibe of the contemporary dance hence, there was a lot of strings in the instrumental.

This song and also the art film portrayed such a powerful and honest image of what it feels like to lose passion in the art you love, to lose that spark and feel stagnant. i know everyone is focusing on the message of the first half of the song, which is feeling out of touch with your passion and feeling it die, but in the second part they say they refuse to let that happen: they will embrace their passion and let it live through them. and this is why i think this comeback is a celebration of arts as an expression, from to the use of dance in the art film, to the lyrics of black swan where bts talk about how empty they would feel after losing the ability to express themselves through their work. in an era of begging for streams and sales and using gimmicks, an era where the art has been overshadowed by the industry, bts are bring it back to the PASSION of music. the BEAUTY of art and entertainment. all other artists are scared of losing their fame, relevancy, fans and spot on the charts meanwhile bts are scared of losing their love for music.

I got goosebumps watching the performance crew. It was such a powerful performance with a powerful meaning. The song was great. It is the orchestra version and it was so stripped down on the singing and rapping part that there was no way to catch up on the lyrics, the music and the performance at the same time. And I think it's supposed to be exactly like that. They want you to feel and experience it without thinking too much. When I think about the lyrics of the song it makes me sad. As we know BTS try to write songs based on experience. So they were on the verge to loose their passion for what they are doing but they fought against it and they refused to let it happen. For me the performance has two ways to interpret it. It's either him fighting against the negative thoughts and feelings and at the end he kinda used them to succeed. Or it plays in the persona and shadow storyline...him as the persona trying to get rid of the shadows. And when he is without them (so the persona took over completely) he realizes that there is nothing left except for his hollow persona...so he accepted his shadows (more like he realized that he can't run away from his shadows) and now they represent him as a person. I don't know...just my poor attempt of reading between the lines 😂. Love you guys 💜💜
