They are becoming my favorite girl group. Soyeon (the one rapping) writes and produces if not everything most of gidle songs. I know it's just and unfounded rumor, but if big hit buys cube ent it will be so dope to have gidle and bts under the same wing.

They made this song for a competition they participated in called 'queendom', I'd really love it if you reacted to their queendom live performance of this song :) Their leader and main rapper Soyeon writes and produces their music but the other members also started to contribute to the music now in their second album, Minnie actually wrote the song blow your mind herself. Also, fun fact: Soyeon was in a show called 'unpretty rapstar' which really showed her rap skills, she's the fastest korean female rapper and is a super talented songwriter, also Miyeon, their main vocal, was supposed to actually debut in blackpink but because of their debut being pushed back all the time Miyeon changed companies (thank god). If you could please react to more idle, they of course have their title tracks (Latata, Hann, Señorita and Uh-Oh), but they also have amazing live stages like put it straight from queendom, their 2018 MMA stage, they also covered 'all that jazz' for kcon ny (which my broadway loving heart couldn't handle), their performance on immortal songs and their cover of light my body up (They have a lot more but these are my faves) Also, if you want to there are a few introduction videos too. They’ve done a lot of stuff and they are not even 2 years old yet, they really are worth checking out <3 I’m sorry this is a super long comment, but the idle girls are amazing and I feel like not enough people know about them, so I was super exited when I saw your reaction😅

Ok cultural appropriation is an issue in all Kpop. Almost every group has been involved in it or has made an inappropriate comment. The concept is fairly new to Korea and although kpop industries should be more careful about things like this it is not something that is going to happen overnight. Korea has a lot of years ahead of them to fix things like this along sexism, fat shaming, etc. Her comment wasn't ill intentioned. She didn't try to put down any culture, so I'm not going to overlook her talent just because she is human.

The ethnic hip comment came from a place of pure ignorance, she didn't know it was wrong and Korea is kind of a country where you don't talk about this stuff. And about the culture stuff, Idle are and have been very respectful towards different cultures, they draw inspiration from a lot of countries and they do it in a way that's very respectful. A lot of people are over exaggerating everything they do, idle have been very respectful with everything. It's like how there was recently a controversy over one of the members because of a mistranslation, which the translator cleared up and apologised for, but everyone who falsely accused her either deleted their comment or ignored the truth and kept going, no one apologised or corrected themselves. People jump on them too fast, idle have even been accused of "appropriating" their own culture, it ridiculous.
