This is from the 2018 concert in Seoul for the begging of their continue tour (it’s from the DVD and it has subs). The second part to this is in the same channel

Sajangnim is actually the Korean term for CEO or like President of a company. His full name is Yang Hyun Suk. They usually call him Yang Hyun Suk Sajangnim or just Sajangnim.

Ah.. been a long time since i last watch this! And its kinda weird not having Chanwoo with them!

Jennifer Z

Sajanim(?) Means boss but YG's name is Yang Hyun Suk but since he's the face of the company or whatever pretty much everyone just calls him YG. Team B is shown/portrayed as this young group of boys who are always having fun which yes iKON being iKON they always have fun in whatever they do but that doesn't mean they didn't go through their own problems and that isn't shown as much. It's like team b is comedic relief. Can you guys react to Bobby's performances from smtm3? Specifically YGGR and maybe his performance at mama 2014 in fact Bobby along with BI and Mino performed with Epik High that year as well they performed Born Hater and they performed that same song but with different lyrics at the Gayo Daejun( I think)

Wow, about what you said at the end! I was actually thinking about this the other day as well, because when I watched WIN when it was airing, I was such a big Ace (team A stan). And watching it again now, I definitely think that the reason they won and why I liked them was because they had a better narrative. You'll see throughout the rest of the series that Team A has a definitive goal to work towards, and Team B doesn't really have a story. You guys are really observant haha!

Love seeing your reactions...can't wait for more. 😍😍😍

I’ve only watched clips from this show but I’ve never really sat down and watched each episode coz it’s like I feel the pressure the boys were going through. It’s only because of you guys that I think I can endure watching all of it.

Yessss EP.2 !!! I’m waiting you guys react to WIN everyday:) thanks I love your reaction so much. I just realized that you guys maybe didn’t know these word : sajangnim = president, maknae = youngest, hyung=The Younger boy calls the older boy

I was tearing up during Bobby's video call, but that "Big boys don't cry, but men do" made me laugh so much, thank you David.

DK looks the most different, and i think a lot of it has to do with his severe weight losses. I won't get too into it, cause it's very sad, Jinhwan often mentioned in the past that he was very worried for him and would feed him by force. He was severely underweight and in this show, you'll see him mention it subtly that food is his enemy. But regardless, this was probably where he weighed the most? I think right now he looks healthier, but it was around 2016-2017 where his weight was very low and he even had to go to the hospital a couple of times. Idk if he's gotten better, i'm not a doctor, but i really hope he's taking care of himself and the boys seem to be looking out for him and making sure he eats properly, so that's good... I felt so bad for the main vocalist of team a (Taehyun?), it seems like communication isn't very good with team a at the moment. When Taehyun started crying, my heart broke, and i was lowkey mad at the team cause they were the reason he got scolded and he didn't even call them out on it. I think Song looks the most tired, probably cause like i said before, he has to sort of double up on catching up with the others, due to lack of experience. Kevin constantly calling Bobby 'baby bobby' is such a mood, he's so young here, it's adorable lol. He really does come off as so innocent, cause he was so young and playful. I live in Virginia so I have a soft spot for Bobby :) DAVID ACTUALLY CRIED, OHMYGOD. You softie, same!!!!! i cried too, it's okay. Poor bobby :( he's the furthest from his family...Why do i feel like i'm rooting for team a? YG did a good job at sneakily making the audience feel more sympathy for them, which makes you wanna vote for them. They're shown as the underdogs here. No wonder they won. It's the trick of editing and making it show team a as the people you want to have win. He did it on purpose, for sure. Not that either are even better, but you just want them to win cause they show them going through more struggles. Like you said, they were showing team A's journey more. I'm watching this with you, so idk if they show more of Team B later, but right now it's like team B is just Jinhwan, Bobby and Hanbin. They show Bobby with his family, Hanbin as a leader, and Jinhwan as sort of the heart of the group, helping the younger members be at ease. If they were showing Team B's struggles, they should be showing the other members who clearly are doing a lot and struggling but right now, they're not. If I was watching this and didn't know ikon, I wouldn't even remember who June is??? He's not even shown, I don't think he spoke once. We're getting more of a connection with team A and it's on purpose. (btw the ages on the show are: bobby is 18, hanbin is 16, jinhwan is 20, song is 18, dk and june are 17)

It might just based on personal references, I was team B bias when I watched it back then cuz they alway make me cry. I cried so much during WIN and Mix&MATCH, that was the first time I cried because of an idol group.

Anonymous

Love watching this again with you guys. Can't wait until you see Mix&Match. I don't know how many time I rewatch the first time Team B met Chanwoo, it was such an ikonic moment.

definitely what stands out here is how the show was very biased towards one team. Team A had multiple well known members who had just come off of a very popular reality show kinda like the equivalent of the X Factor in Korea back then. Meanwhile Team B had no one.. B.I was a kid when he did his Indian Boy activities and he had very minor activities with minimal exposure back then. What he had was equivalent to an aspiring youtube star. Team A from the get go is the underdog. The team that has the more known members yet also flopping compared to the young and ambitious yet unknown Team B. Very little narrative to Team B is given to Team B and their stories. And when they are given that screen time (not going to give spoilers ) it is too late. The unfair screentime distribution, the narrative, the background story of Team B still angers me to this day. YG and Mnet definitely knew who they wanted to win. And at the same time, crushed a whole team's dreams in an instant. iKON despite overcoming all their hardships ... are still scarred til this day. Hanbin wrote a song about his emptiness after this experience. Still bitter and angry til this day that YG treated Team B like this. :( iKON and Team B, the true underdogs. The underdogs that never got their full story told back in 2013. :(

Will you upload episode 3 tonight?

Hi Kevin and David. It's 2am here in the Philippines. Excitedly waiting for WIN EP 3. Hahaha... Just wondering if you guys won't be uploading today. 😅

I’m not saying I liked how YG played his card with WIN, BUT I do like the fact that team B at that time did not win because I can’t imagine my boys(iKON) as winner. They were meant to be iKON with baby Chanwoo. Winner and iKON have totally different color in terms of the kind of artist they are and I’m glad I get to enjoy both of them.

For me it seemed like YG was worried about possible fights in the future if he debuts team A, he even send them on a Teamwork Training Camp during WIN, so they would get closer and get a stronger bond between each other. Team B on the other hand were younger and had already back then a very strong bond and trust among each other but literally all of the members were in a phase where their voices have been changing, even the rappers. It wouldn't be a smart move to debut them without giving them time to adjust to their voice changes. It was pretty obvous that he didn't plan to debut them yet.

MJ

I became a fan of iKON just last yr and when I’ve seen WIN I was obviously biased towards team b. I wanted to know team a but team b was receiving so much hate in the comments section of the videos that i started hating team a as well thinking that they only won because they have known members and because of sympathy votes. If you’ll see the comments section a lot of team a fans were saying that yg actually wants team b to win that’s why he’s favoring them so much and that made my blood boil. As if team b didn’t work hard. As if everything team b does was to play around. I was thinking that team b was a lot more prepared to debut than team a. Because their team work is a+, they are hella comftable performing in front of people and team a at the time was problematic But I see what you mean when you say that team a has a proper story line. I guess for a viewer like me who knew ikon before watching win won’t notice that team b didn’t have a proper story line, because we already know them and didn’t need any other validation. The show was aired during the time that nobody knows team b so a proper storyline could’ve made their image better. So I guess it’s some kind of reverse psychology of yg. He makes it looks like team a was an underdog. A lot of people will always go for the underdog. Not saying team a is not talented. Both teams are great in their own ways because they have different styles. But I now finally see how this was played. And up to this day. A lot of winner fans still hates ikon because of win. And i guess some ikonics hating on winner as well (i’m one of them when they start to bash ikon when iKON gets recognition but we congratulate them when they win in weeklycharts). It’s just sad, that WIN is also the reason why MOBB didn’t last. Because fans of both BGs don’t like seeing them together. It’s my favorite subunit! Prolly the 2nd favorite now since Double B will be releasing their music in May. Oh well. Apologies for the lengthy comment.

Hey guys! Thanks for another video! I remember watching this series when it originally aired and it's kind of nice to revisit it with you guys. I didn't really know anything about Team A or Team B when I watched it back in 2013. As you guys said, it really felt like Team B was a real team and Team A were just individuals working together. On the other side it felt like Team A had individuality and something that made each member stand out in their own way, whereas Team B had members that weren't standing out either due to confidence, training time, or editing that really only highlighted B.I., Bobby, and Jinhwan. I'm just stating what my initial thoughts of the show were back in 2013. Back then, it felt like YG pushed out the show to see if Team A could figure out how to confidently become a team and if Team B could get all of the members to grow individually. I mean, he put them under pressure , gave challenges, and made a show to see which team would grow the most in the way that he wanted. There weren't a lot of survival shows that made idol groups back then like there are now, so it also felt like YG wanted to see if the trainees could develop a fanbase before their debut, thus making their eventual debut more successful. Anyways, that's just some of the thoughts I used to have about this show.

I love both Teams but it’s not like Team A had it easy either. Whatever it is Team B felt like they would go through if they lost, Team A had already went through that. Mino had been featured onlyas an underground rapper but was actually in a group that disbanded, was supposed to be part of Block B but that didn’t work for him either. Jinwoo trained within different groups and he lost all of them. Sure, maybe this show was meant to market Team A but Team B also gained from this, both fans and experience. They wouldn’t be the iKon they are now if not for this.

DK is originally a big eater, but he got extreme weightloss due to extreme diet, at least thats what he said, but people and media said as what u said, so its up to us what to believe. He did hospitalized for couple times tho, only we don't know the certain reason. But members always pointed him out as big eater (check on Star Road), he did some mukbangs at Vlive too. Little correction to member's age at that time (2013). Jinhwan was 19 (born 1994) bobby and Yunhyeong was 18 (born 1995), Han-bin was 17 (1996) and DK June was 16 (1997)

Never once did I say Team A had it easy, I said like what you just reinforced .. that the show was purely meant to market Team A... Just because Team A had experienced it does not make it any right to make Team B experience it simply for the sake of marketing Team A. To make my point even clearer, I said it is completely unfair because Team B were the true underdogs when the whole show made it seem like Team A were. Final votings were majority based on public vote.. how does a team with no recognisable members before the show win? The show manipulated six teenagers with huge ambition, used their dreams as fodder for this show and stepped on it at the end. The bruises from this loss still hurt the iKON members today, and if you did follow them like you said you do, you would know that. You saw the finale how each and every single member broke down in front of nationwide television, they were stripped of their dreams in front of them. Back then, their future as a group was not even a guarantee. Hanbin said he cried every day for a month and then created Empty, which sums up all of his pain. If you truly watched it back in 2013, for not one second would you say that this was worth it when six teenagers' dreams were crushed before their very eyes. If you watch it from the perspective now, perhaps that view can be formulated, but back then fans were desperate for them to remain as a team, for them to debut as the six members, for them not to break up and leave. There were so many rumours that they had left YG etc Team B fans were desperate that they decided to trend a Team B related hashtag every Friday on twitter. It was their own way to let YG know that there was a high demand for Team B. iKON worked their butts off to make sure that every member is carried through.. and even then that wasn't enough since Mix and Match happened. They not only gained fans and experience, but they gained pain that was not right for boys of that age to experience. Pain that can never be erased. If you watched fancams, those boys stood there on stage for the longest time, sobbing their eyes out, watching the world stare at them as they realise that all the years they spent working towards this one dream to become an artist.. was shattered in one second.
