Todd grew up with Black & White, he was the friend that was at the pool with them when they had their drowning incident. So White automatically trust Todd coming back to Thailand because they are childhood friends and heā€™s been with Black these past 10 years. :) Just for clarity for Andy.

This is one of my absolute favorite series. Gun really shines in this series with having to be both Black and White. His ability to make each character different from each other with slight changes (like voice, mannerisms, walk, etc.) is incredible. The chemistry between Off & Gun is top notch as well. I've loved all their series together so far but Not Me is their best in my opinion. This show was so under rated when it premiered it's a shame. GMMTV really dropped the ball when it comes this series. Also, IMO this series has one of the best sound tracks ever. Pretty much every song made its way to my playlist. Excited to see ya'lls reactions to the rest of the series. I hope yas like it as much as I do.

Understandable why Andy says he had no expectations because this is all new to him so it makes sense. Also, I really think Not Me is amazing in terms of storyline. I guess you could say that the gangā€™s friendship dynamic is like in Only Friends, but toned down, and no backstabbing, and they actually do care about each other deep down. Not Me is definitely a hidden gem. I remember it not getting a lot of promotion from the company, so not many people watch it. My guess itā€™s because it definitely sheds a light on things that were happening in Thailand in terms of politics. Not a lot of BL watchers liked it cause they thought it was boring (donā€™t let that statement sway your judgement), but I think itā€™s really informative. It gives us a good balance between storyline and BL moments. Itā€™s barely the first episode, so everything is just getting set up. Therefore, thatā€™s why there was not a lot of BL moments in this episode. The fact you guys said it looks like a good quality BL is great, because I remember also the director saying they had such a low budget doing this series. Yes, the moment of Sean rubbing oil on ā€œBlackā€ & them on the floor was supposed to be a BL momentā€¦fanservice, so Andy wasnā€™t entirely wrong about that. However, within the storyline, no actual feelings have arisen between the characters. Todd is Black and Whiteā€™s childhood best friend, in the beginning he was there with White and Black by the pool. Thus, that is the reason for Todd calling White. You will see whatā€™s his role in the storyline much further in the series. Black and White are so different in terms of personality, and we could definitely see that in flashbacks White has had of them growing up. We will see more of that in the future as well in their perspective about the law/justice systemā€¦so when Gram and ā€œBlackā€ are speaking about Rule by Law and Rule of Law in this episode, it will come into play much later on. I would also say that there are siblings that would do anything for each other, so it is definitely showed through White. He doesnā€™t think twice, it was very impulsive but it was drove by anger/revenge. He is a very good brother, I agree. However, he doesnā€™t know what heā€™s getting himself into especially we will see that in episode 2.

So, this is my first experience with ā€œAndersonā€. Not Andyā€™s fault. Just neither Anime or My Demon are really up my alley, so I havenā€™t yet had the pleasure. Zero filter. I found it humorous, so thanks for the smiles. I hope by the end of the journey, Andy, you will be glad you took the trip and donā€™t regret it like getting stuck at a port while on cruise with no way out šŸ˜‚. Not Me is very popular among audience members within the LGBTQ+ community more than the standard BL viewers who are mostly watching BLs for pure romance. A lot of the draw of this show is the way it set out to examine a lot of real world societal questions/topics including the role of government, the law, the wealthy elite, and the police in our communities. The show also frankly addresses the political sides of LGBTQ+ rights and our realities in the context of the characters and in the context of contemporary Thai society. The direct and showrunner of the show, Nuchy Anucha Boonyawatana, is a transwoman and I personally think she helped bring a lot of authenticity to several aspects of this show that really stood out for queer and trans people. The show draws heavily on real life political and legal history. The scene in the classroom of Gram, Black, and Nuch in the classroom discussing their different interpretations of Rule by Law vs Rule of Law is important to remember as a theme going forward. Also that case that they discussed is important because it involved Tawi, the politician whose house they are going to burn down at the end of this episode.

fiirst of all, omg iā€™m so grateful yā€™all are pausing it to talk! the My School President reactions are shaking. Okay Iā€™m gonna try not to be too much of a hater. This series would be better with different leads. Gun is too much of a skinny twink to be believable as a badass gangster, and he and Off have no chemistry with each other in this. My man First, and the rest of the cast carry the show for me. Yok would eat Sand for breakfast and then spit him back out Also Gram is so hot omg Andyā€™s gotta react to Bad Buddy sometime

Bro this is one of my favourite BLs. I love offgun theyā€™re such a good main couple. Theyā€™ve been in so many shows together and theyā€™re always together in real life as well. They have their own show on GMMTV and have for years now. They are sometimes by themselves and just talk about things and sometimes have guests and itā€™s so fun. These two are such good actors, they do so good together. This was one of the first more kind of dangerous feeling BLs. Like usually theyā€™re in uni or school and not really threatening. But I loved GMMTV for this show so much. Gun got to show his acting skills so well because he plays twins, White and Black. First and Gawin are my favourites in this show. First is the guy who plays Yok in this show and Sand in only friends. And I donā€™t think youā€™ve seen Gawin yet in any other show. But this was before first got paired up with Khaotung (plays Ray) so before only friends. I loved Gawin and first so much but was sad they never got another show together so canā€™t wait to see you see them. Honestly first has had so many different partners through the years and heā€™s had chemistry with everyone. Gram is the ex of Top in only friends and heā€™s just so hot in both the roles. Mond is a gorgeous man. I also love Singh who plays Todd in this show. So many of the people in this bl have been in GMMTV for years and years some actual long showing actors here that are amazing.

Not me is a series that incorporated political and societal issues into its story. Don't get me wrong, It definitely has its "raunchy" moments, but it does bring up some political issues which I believe resonated with a lot of viewers. So be prepared for a lot of exposition. Also, I would like to point that David was correct. The warnings at the beginning of the show are longer. Because the show is dealing with such sensitive political topics, the company has to put in a warning, for legal purposes, that their intention is not to incite viewers to commit such behavior/ crimes as you will see later on. Which ( someone correct me if I'm wrong) was also due to the fact that 1 year prior to the shows airing, Thai Students were protesting against oppression from their government.

reposting my yt comment about thai names here bc..yeah: i feel like no one has explained this, so i'm going to, even though i'm not thai lol. u guys have mentioned the names in thai bl a couple times so here u go: in thailand their birth names are usually really long (which has some connotations that i won't get into,) its actually illegal in thailand for someone to have the same last name as a person they're not related to. as u can imagine this causes people to get creative, hence long birth names. so the names u see in the dramas, plug, korn, sand etc. are not the person's real name, they're nicknames. in thailand they can and will name their kids after any and everything, if they like it they will give that person that name. some people don't even know their friend's real name because of the nickname culture and stuff. i'm sure someone could explain this better and more thoroughly but yeah, i find it very interesting. this comment is long af sorry sksks.

Soā€¦ this series is where (in my humble opinion) Gun shows off his acting skills best. in other BL series he plays, he is always this kind of soft crybaby (especially in Theory of Love), but here he gets to play basically three rolesā€¦ First one is Black (we did not see him much yet, since he's in a coma and allā€¦). IĀ“m not going to describe him much, since I don't want to spoil things for you, but even from childhood flashbacks we can see he is the bolder one of the twins. the second role is White, who as we can see, is really ā€œwhite collar privilegedā€ (I do not know how to describe it better) and very influenced by his father, who he grew up with. We can see that he is softer than his brother (even from the flashbacks) and weĀ“re going to see just how different the brothers are when weĀ“re going to see more scenes of White with his father. Lastly, there is White acting as Black, which I count as a third role for Gun, just because of how clueless and confused he is 90% of the time, because he really does not know his brother at allā€¦i mean, of course he doesn't they didnĀ“t see each other in ten yearsā€¦ :D :D About their familyā€¦ DonĀ“t be confused by BlackĀ“s apartment, he is not poor. Their mother is a judge and a prominent one. With father being a diplomat, and mother being a judge, they are both well off, even after their parents split, so yeahā€¦ money is not a problem for either of them. Also David was right, the Raikantopeni intro in the begining was longer, because the story has heavy political undertones and is dealing with serious issues, and the ā€œwe are not promoting this type of behavior,ā€ line isnĀ“t really about the lgbtq staff but more about the staff Black and his friends are going to get intoā€¦ but yeah, it sounds a little weird in context of BL storyā€¦ The other actor's name you need to know is Off (Sean). With Gun they make one of the longest lasting BL acting couple for GMMTV (they are each other's only onscreen partner in BL shows since 2016) Yok is played by actor named First and he is a part of a ship FistKhao, witch you had seen in Only friends where he played Sand and Khao played Ray, but in this series First has a different onscreen partner (Gawin). They are going to be the side couple. The last one on the group is Gram, played by Mond. This show really suffered when it was released, because it came out at the same time as Bad buddy, and Bad buddy kind of stole its thunder, so I'm glad Not me is getting the recognition it deserves, because it's really one of the best shows and does not suffer from the typical BL tropes GMMTV loves to use. Lastly, I love Andy,make him watch more bls with you pleaseā€¦ And I'm writing paragraph againā€¦ sorry, not sorryā€¦ :D

I haven't seen this series before so I know we haven't gotten into the major moments but I'm not sure I'll love this one. Maybe it's just since I've seen this show so hyped up by so many people. Gun (Black/White) is doing a great job so far though. I know I'll really like the commentary on politics but I don't think this is the most well structured series. I think the way they gave the twins like pseudo superpowers was weird. It just wasn't really explained and kind of made it seem like sharing memories and physical feelings is a common twin thing, which it's not from my understanding. I also don't love how he didn't seem to do even the most basic research before jumping into the world. I understand not knowing friend dynamics but not knowing anything about politics in Thailand as an apparently smart international affairs major seems weird. Also White didn't even seem to know Black's major which Todd should have told him. I just think White did everything to look like Black and did nothing more. The writing just feels odd to me. From a screenwriting perspective a pilot episode of a series should not only set up the basic plot but give the audience a semi self-contained story that leads into the overall journey of the series but this kind of just felt like it teased the overall storyline. I hope it gets better since I know a lot of people love this one and I don't want to be so negative lol. Omg I would love a only friends reaction with Andy please!!

Usually in a school setting or any interaction with any type of authority figure is where they would use their full name/Thai name, not their nickname. However, when it comes to friends or family they will call them by their nickname. I have read somewhere that having nicknames is just an easy way for tourists to know peopleā€™s names. I also read, that they are named certain things, colors, foods, if the parents like it. They also try to name their children something meaningful, or try to find meaning in a certain name. Their nickname can also contain some parts of their full time name. However, some parents do name their children more western names: Jeff, Louis, Sean, Jesse, Jimmyā€¦thatā€™s just a few that I know. Thai words can also be used as names such as a girl can be named Som, which is orange is Thai. Usually their thai names become their last names for example, Bibleā€™s actual name is Wichapas Summetikul but itā€™s now Bible Wichapas Summetikul. I also learned that there is a superstition that parents put nicknames to their children to protect them from evil spirits, that might be jealous of their full thai name. Thatā€™s what I know about the nickname aspect, just wanted to answer you. My apologies for the long comment! šŸ˜­šŸ™ˆ.
