State of the Patreon, March 2017 (Patreon)

What a month Feburary was right? We got have a lot of new patrons with us and an awesome guest pic from Jacques00 (https://www.patreon.com/posts/guest-artist-8259992).  But lets get to the news

Since last month's patreon amount went over the 1600 milestone I will be holding 2 Patreon streams this month, one on the 8th and the other on the 15th.   The theme this month is Milfshake Madness and you can find the post about it HERE https://www.patreon.com/posts/patreon-streams-8190947

Ok now for some bigger news. I have slightly clarified the patreon  picture rewards for each tier. Recently I have been spending more and more time on the personal patron reward pictures and it is starting to take up more time than the comics. This is a problem, while the top patrons do provide a large portion of my patreons income, the comics should be the focus of my attention for most of the month. In addition the patron rewards where never intended to be these giant projects that they have become.

That is my fault honestly and I have made this same mistake before with the patron rewards. But it seems many of my top patrons are not satisfied with just pin-ups, they want transformation sequences, sex involved scenes and design work for new characters or revisits of old characters. I have been thinking of these issues and I believe I have a solution that will work out for both me and the patrons that get rewards each month.

Each reward picture will be categorized into time amounts. Knight tier (50$) will get a sketch that is 2.5 hours worth of time, Arch Mage tier (100$) will get 5 hours and Ascended tier (200$) will get 10 hours. These numbers may change in the future.

With this change I will be more open to longer term projects or more complex pictures that take more time. But those projects will require a patron stay in that reward tier longer, assuming there are slots in that tier. To prevent issues, I will cap the amount of hours you can store to 30. Exception can be made but you will need to speak to me about them.

Why the change?

Because the comics are supposed to be the main focus of my patreon, not the patron rewards. As of late my patreon seems to have become how people get commissions from me, I don't mind that too much but I need to refocus my patreon to what is most important.

What does this mean for my rewards that still need to be worked on?

Very little honestly. I will be finishing them as I would normally, but I will be holding myself to these time limits. They are already close to what I have been spending on most projects, but I have noticed an increase in complexity I myself have been actively seeking out and patrons have requested. I can't fight my nature in wanting to make works better or fight my patrons on giving them what they want. This new time system is intended to work for both you and me.
