What kind of aspect ratio for animations do you prefer ?

I primarily use 1:1 since it shows the most and looks nice on twitter and art galleries but i don't actually know how many of you full screen stuff, since 1:1 full screened looks kind of bad.

Also the animation is coming soon, just need to render it out, that's why i'm asking :>

For comparison

1:1

16:9

Benefits of 1:1

  • Shows a lot
  • Looks great on art galleries and social media, very big preview

Negatives of 1:1

  • Looks pretty bad full-screened, leaving huge black bars on the sides.
  • Higher render times (1:30min per frame)

Benefits of 16:9

  • Looks perfect when full-screened
  • Lower render times (0:50min per frame)

Negative of 16:9

  • Very limiting with angles, have to be either zoomed in or the pose itself has to be horizontal (bed scenes for example)
  • Looks pretty bad on art galleries and social media, very small preview

would 4:3 be a little bit of a compromise with the benefits of both :0 16:9 sounds tricky bc you already explained how the angles have to be limited, but going fullscreen is pretty nice too
