Here is what i have been up to the last 2+ months.

First let me explain how 3D models are usually made.
When someone makes a 3D model of a character, they do a whole model from scratch and make everything very personalized for that specific character, a benefit of doing that is that you can make very unique characters with almost no limitations. However the big downside is that it takes a lot of time to do and once the model is finished, everything related to it like the Rig or Shaders have to be maintained to keep up with your current workflow. All of that ads up to very long downtime between characters and a limited lifespan of their usability especially when you constantly learn new things and find more efficient ways of working.

So now to how i make my 3D models.
The way i do it is very close to how modern games do character creation menus. I have a single "Human" body which can be customized with a lot of different presets. That allows me to basically treat all of my current characters as a single entity that i keep working on and upgrading on and on . The downside is that i can't really stray off too hard from the basic human proportions but so far that hasn't really been a problem.

Here is a view of what type of body types i had in my character creator so far.

New body types that have been added just now - HERE
Now of course you might notice that pretty much all of them are pretty extreme to some degree, and that is correct. What my aim was with those body types is to bring as much variety as possible so that i can make more distinct characters in the future. Most of those bodies are not really meant to be used on a 100% strength and will probably be used on a 50/50 mix.

Main reasons behind those body types.
Body #1
- A very muscular (pretty much Bara) body type that is planned to be primarily used for characters like Mordekaiser, very beefy and wide on the shoulders, perfect for hunky characters.
Body #2 - A variation of the first one, currently planned to used on Kaiman, thinner on the waist, putting more emphasis on the shoulders.
Body #3 - Very alien like bulky type, no particular use right now but possible use in a more alien like characters. Faceless Void as an example.
Body #4 - Chubby type, very simple one for the type of characters with "Dad Bodies", current use case is for Captain.
Body #5 - Alien like, fit body type intended to be used by Thresh

Body #6 - Very skinny, more of a edge case scenario body type, mostly will be used as a slight mix factor for thinner characters.

Newly added full claw support HERE

Will make the claws look way more intimating than the old pointy fingernails.

To close this off.
That has been the big project i have been working on, and now with it finished you can expect more interesting characters to appear in the future. It also means that i can resume the development on Kaiman as this was the reason why he is not done yet. However since this all took a lot of time and work, i will take a little break from the usual new characters.
Instead i will work on some easier ones, i'm currently looking into doing something with the new Fortnite Lizard skin. So stay tuned on that soon.

If you have any questions relating anything, feel free to ask.
