Migraines, Chapters, and Girl Scout Cookies (Patreon)

Okay, so I'm sure some of you have noticed my output has been a little sporadic the last few days. I've been getting hammered by migraines this week. I'm sure it has something to do with the terrible weather, but migraines and writing don't mix. Even after the migraine is gone, you're not really done with it. Or, at least, I'm not done with it. Between the migraine itself and the medication I take for it, I get migraine hangovers. It's the best way I can think to describe it.

I'm basically afflicted with mental apathy and state of general dumbness. Sometimes, I can write through it, but having migraines three days in a row made the hangovers extra bad. The writing I was doing was mostly garbage. Like, I'd write a page, let it sit for an hour, come back, read it, and then immediately delete it so that there would never be any proof that I'd written something so bad. Plus, we're coming up on fight scenes right quick, and I want to be at the top of my game for those.

The good news it that the worst of it seems to be over. My brain feels right again (hurray!), so there should be a chapter or two later tonight.

This part is mostly for the US-based people or deployed US military because shipping and whatnot. Like lots of other people, I have a niece in the Girl Scouts, and it's Girl Scout Cookie time again. So, if you don't have a Girl Scout in your life from which to buy delicious Thin Mints and Lemonade cookies and...um...all those other cookies that I never buy, you can order them through my niece Ellie's Girl Scout page over here. (There's an option to have her deliver the cookies, but obviously she's not going to hop a plane to deliver cookies.)

For anyone who's wondering, they use the funds from these kinds of drives to help fund things like camping trips and educational outings. There's probably a merit badge of some kind if she sells enough of them.

I'm going to resist the urge to tie some Patreon-based benefit to this because you're already spending money here and any benefit I offer is probably something I would do anyway. Like, I was thinking about offering to do another 5,000-10,000 word story focused on a side character and letting you vote on which character...but, like I said, I'm probably going to do that anyway. I think the only real difference would be timing because the cookie sale has a timer on it and my setting up a poll and writing the story doesn't. Anyways, that's the news, such as it is.
