Now, like a great many other writers, I'm an indoors creature by nature. As Neil Gaiman once said, "We're writers. We have keyboards. We have darkness." Buuuuuttttt, every once in a while, something happens that warrants going outside on purpose. Today, I was lucky enough to be in the zone of North America that got a full solar eclipse. While they aren't precisely once-in-a-lifetime events, they're close enough that I made a point not to have anything else on my plate between 3pm and 4pm today. I even got the black-as-night eclipse sunglasses with the (I assume) super filtering and polarization. It was worth making the time for. I literally got watch a bright, sunny spring afternoon turn into late evening for a couple of minutes, and even got to see that badass coronal effect around the moon with my very own eyeballs. In short, it was awesome. I tried to take a picture, but it wasn't very good. Lousy, outdated smartphone camera! Even so, I've got that memory locked up tight for future use in a a book somewhere.

In other news, I will be starting the great sign-o-thon of Volume Two paperbacks today and getting some of them put into envelopes for shipping. I thought it was going to happen last week, but getting ready for/going to get my taxes done was way more involved and mentally grueling than I expected. With that off my plate, and the celestial event now come and gone, I can start focusing again.

Awesome! My brother and I actually went on a mini road trip today to see the total eclipse. 100% worth getting up real early and then frantically changing our destination several times to try and avoid clouds.

I also made a bit of a road trip to get the full experience. It was worth a pause in your writing IMO
