I finally caught up and watched the rest of your reactions. First of all, thank you for reacting to the series and sharing your journey with us. This series is so good I still can't find the right words to express it after rewatching so many times. I think the way the characters were written was perfect. They were flawed and felt so grounded in reality. There were parts of them I didn't like but that doesn't matter in the end. Because when you meet someone, you don't like everything about them and that's what it felt with these characters. All stories were well written and P'Aof made the right choices for the casting in the series. Heart and Li Ming were so pure, they really were the comfort couple we needed with all the more adult drama. I'm really blown away thinking this was Gemini's first role, the way he portrayed Heart was just everything. I adore the scenes when Heart speaks and Li Ming's reactions. The way Heart smile saying Li Ming's name the 2nd time, my heart!!!!! Also Li Ming lion dancing was the most precious thing! And them going to America together, perfect closure for this episode for them. Allan was so flustered with Gaipa, it was so adorable ❤️ in a way Gaipa's mom helped him meet Allan as her last act on Earth 🥺🥺🥺 it's both sad and happy. I loved it. And yes, First Khaotung chemistry still off the charts no matter how little screen time they got together. The relationship between Jim and Li Ming is one of my favourite in the series. Earth and Fourth did so well portraying them. The evolution of their relationship was so wholesome to watch. Yes, it started really rocky at the beginning but there was still this care and love despite all the fights. I loved to see then both learn to communicate better towards the end and Li Ming telling Jim he loves him melted my heart. My fave scene of them was the one right after the funeral in ep 7. As for Jim and Wen, what a journey it's been. Earth and Mixx did so well with all their scenes. Wen, was too pushy fir me at the start and the fact that there was Allan still there, I didn't trust Wen at first. Jim really touched me as a character. The way he always put everyone else first was both wholesome and sad. I teared up in the scene when he gave Leng the gold necklace. I thought, wow this man loves and cares for his little family so much. I also loved the callback to that scene in ep 8 with Leng giving the necklace back. Jim's past broke my heart... he went through so much heartache, loss, disdain from Beam's parents.... no wonder he was protecting himself with Wen. And things got so much more complicated with Allan. But they got there in the end, and their journey wasn't the easiest one. Wen persevered, listened, helped and stayed no matter how many times Jim didn't let him in... And it wasn't just Jim who changed and opened up, Wen went through his own journey of dealing with his past, mourning and finally letting go of his past relationship with Allan. This situation was so messy and complicated but it also felt real. 5 years is a long time, and they were young too so it's the beginning of their life, they both believed in a future together. But Wen fell out of love, resentment started and it all became so messy... I have to say, First and Mixx did so well acting the complicated relationship of these 2, the break up scene was so hard to watch because of how raw and real it felt. Jim and Wen finally getting together was the closure we all needed for the series. I loved that Wen declined the job offer to stay with Jim. I think long distance would have been hard for Jim and would have brought in trust issues and maybe belief that Wen should leave him behind. But no, Wen found a home in Jim, something Jim never believed he could be to someone. It really felt like this journey was needed for then both to reach their happiness together. And the fact that they both acknowledge at the end that they met at the right time and the right person with the same background music as the scene they were intimate for the first time, that was so perfect. And of course, every character in the series was interesting. Leng was such a great support to the main characters, he wasn't just there for comic relief, he had his own problems too. Mark keeps growing on me as an actor, it was such a joy seeing him in this series. The adults were also well written characters. My favourite character development among the adults was Heart's mom. After episode 4, she got the wake up call she needed to change and do better for her son. When we see her sign in ep 7, I cried so much. And then the dad too. When you think about all the post its in Heart's room in ep 4 and then you see this scene, it's so heartwarming to see that both parents finally put the effort of learning to communicate with their son, introducing him to their friends and taking him outside. Also, the trust they have in Li Ming is the best thank you they could give him. Heart's mom was a bit complicated for me to like. I know she's trying now to do better but when you think of Li Ming being nearly an adult already, it took her too long in my opinion to finally act as his mom. This actress should always be casted as Fourth's mom though, these two really have the perfect chemistry for a mother-son relationship. On the contrary, Gaipa and his mom were so wholesome, she felt like his best friend and confident. Seeing her passing was devastating... Khaotung ripped my heart to pieces when he sang at the funeral... The cinematography and the music were so fitting for this universe. It really added on the uniqueness of the story. Both ost are so good and they work so well with the atmosphere of the scenes. I could go on for a whole essay about this series but I'm going to stop here. Thank you again for sharing these reactions with us. As for recommandation, if you want to see Mark in another series : The Warp effect It's so good, talks about a lot of issues, has great representation for lgbtqi community too. It's got fantasy, humor and a lot of heart. Main character is played by Newwie Mark has a side role but still has quite a lot of screen time and Jedi is an awesome characters!
