Not a big fan of This Mohammed- you did a good job balancing the conversation. I don’t get this guy’s circumlocution — I guess he is very indirect hiding behind the stats while the game is played on the pitch. Mohammed sounds super smart on stats and lacking in soccer smarts.

Right sitting on the fence with this one. Sorry. We started by spending some time discussing how Nagelsmann and Hasenhuttl would take this team far beyond of what Emery can. This felt a little harsh on Emery and an overstatement of these coaches. How good they are. For a team to break into the top end of the PL without a stable defensive line requires more than a miracle. Klopp struggled too at first. Reinforced the front lines (just as we do) but the back were complete shambles. VVD joined and look where they are. There is absolutely no evidence on these two coach to do any different or better than Unai. We then start talking Pepe. Great. Oh hang on. No we spend about 15 minutes with the geezer telling us that we overspent and we could have done a better job and cheaper by signing Lozano or Bergwijn. The love Lozano but he is literally the same age as Pepe. Pepe is bigger, more athletic and I would argue you that his stats are on par if not better than Lozano. And it is not a dig at Lozano because I love the player but I don’t see him as miles better than Pepe. And we not gaining anything in terms of age. For Bergwijn I can hear the argument. We then got into the thick of it and thanks Elliot for kind of keeping the whole discussion in some way positives. I hear that stats guys are generally difficult to excite because they can only tell you what the numbers are telling you. But at one point it really killed the excitement. I am a fan after all. I don’t want to hear that we have made a mistake by over spending into a player. But this pod man... that was a mood killer. I cannot wait to get some Clive back in my life 😂
