To me, Emery's philosophy is pragmatism itself. His one constant thought is "How can I win this match"? He isn't bothered with any of the extra nonsense that Wenger spent way too much of his time worrying about. I believe this appointment was made, among other reasons, because Emery's strengths directly address many of Wengers deficiencies.
