I'm glad we got to wrap the season up before the end of the year. And OMG I didn't even realize that the resolution was basically what you just saw in Doctor Who this week too haha. For context, the end of this episode with the Tardis arriving, the next scene from Jacks perspective is actually in Doctor Who. It's the start of the 3 part season 3 finale with the Doctor, Martha, Jack and the Master at the end of the universe. At the start of that episode Jack grabs the Tardis as it's taking off, and it ends up knocking it off course. From a Whoniverse perspective this episode actually timed well, as over on Doctor Who the stories airing around this time had the Doctor and Martha stranded in space (42), then living out life in 1913 (human nature/family of blood), and trapped back in the 1960's (Blink) so we knew watching this at the time that the Doctor wasn't in present day earth to intervene with the big bad. Season 2 I feel like the characters mellow out a bit. They still have their flaws, because they are supposed to, but they do a better job of making you understand why they are flawed. Also the structure of the show settles down a bit. The viewership more than doubled from S01 to S02, and the average ratings go up a bit also.
