This is definitely my favorite episode of season 1. I love that we get to see Jack and Tosh really confide in each other, and open up some more. Owen of course continues to be reckless and destructive, but this is the first time I think we've seen Ianto really step up and show why he is a part of Torchwood, and not (as Owen put it) "just the tea boy." The actor who plays the real Jack Harkness in this said that playing this role was really important to him. His brother was gay and had really struggled with it, to the point he sadly committed suicide a few years prior to this. He said that being able to have a story featuring a same-sex love story really made him realize how far we've come in terms of acceptance and that episodes like this helped him to feel like his brother didn't die in vain. Wow, can't believe we have reached the season finale now, which interestingly was broadcast immediately after the previous episode.
