I thought this was a very good episode, it had some creepy moments and some really sad moments. I liked Rita, when the Doctor started talking about bringing her with him, I was like, No, not again, I am not going to start liking her, thinking, Yeah! Lets bring her with us, only for her to die, stop doing that show. That ending with the Doctor breaking Amy's faith to save her, was so sad to watch. When the Doctor was leaving Amy and Rory, which was also a sad scene. I was thinking, What?, you can't leave them, then he started saying things like , "What's the alternative? Me standing over your grave?" and I thought, well, he's got a point, things don't usually go so well for his companions, see Rose and Donna, maybe this is for the best? Then seeing the Doctor alone in the TARDIS at the end, time to be sad all over again. Great reaction, I look forward to finding out what happens next.

I agree with you on the "let's bring her with us, only to die" plot point. It's been used too much, going way back to season 1 and Lynda with a Y.

I was flabbergasted by this episode. I love the whole "Hotel California" vibe about this one. Strangers put into a bizarre scenario and see of they can get out is one of my favorite storytelling devices. I have made it very clear that Amy and Rory are my favorite companions (along with River, sometimes) and the fact that The Doctor deemed it fitting to let them go at this moment surprised me all-to-hell but also relieved a bunch of the tension in my mind as to thier fate. He got them a house and a car and sent them off alive-and-well to thier future. I hated to see them go, but I was happy nothing bad happened to them as well. They are a hard team to follow and I just hope you enjoyed them as much as I did. This was the hardest goodbye for me even though it wasn't the saddest. I am excited to see what you think of what's to come.
