Poor Mike. He isn't easily tricked, but he had a blind spot with his friend Werner. He kept sensing that Werner was having a problem with staying there away from his wife for a year and a half but convinced himself that Werner would be sensible. But people aren't always logical. I like how tense the demolition scene was. After Mike tried to scare sense into Werner about how his life is on the line with this job and its secrecy, Werner found himself in a dangerous situation that he's been in hundreds of times before and had a little breakdown facing his mortality and how quickly it could end. And that will change a person's perspective about what is most important in life.
