I'm glad that you guys enjoyed this! I've seen it three times in person. The first time was in London last summer at this very performance that was filmed. You don't see me in the audience unfortunately, I'm behind the boom camera. I had the same initial difficulty as you in the beginning. When she first started, I had no idea what was going on for the first 10 minutes. It took me some time to catch up to her pace but she's absolutely incredible. I actually enjoyed watching the filmed version more because when I saw it live I had a hard time connecting to the performance. I was awestruck but I was too far in the back and blocked by the boom camera to see her emotions and truly connect with them. The show has been on Broadway this year since April. I've been lucky enough to see it in person two more times with better seats. lol I get emotional every time I see it. Can you imagine going through the range she does for 8 shows a week for almost three months? Just incredible. She's won just about every English theater award for this and the Tony Award this year for best actress in a play. The filmed version is actually now required viewing for all judges in Northern Ireland as part of their training. Just a testament to Jodie, Suzie Miller the playwright and the entire production.
