Finally!!!!! I’m just gonna put it out there and say this show is what the movie should have been BUT better because like the book Louis is very much a woe is me victim to the attraction that is Lestat . Whereas this Louis has soooo much more agency and flaws as a person. As far the comparison, the movie played fast and loose with the romantic aspect of Louis and Lestat which the show immediately puts out there. The book implies that Louis isn’t a reliable narrator hence everything in the movie and even the show is HIS emotionally influenced recollection. The movie is only one part of a large story and thus the show can actually finish the book actually getting into Lestats story and even possibly the Queen of the Damned arc. The show is def closer to the books but def modernized. You’ve maybe seen Lestat in “Belle” that’s what I recalled him from.
