It was only a simple encounter... Reilly meeting Marlene three weeks before this night at the mall... for Reilly an opportunity to belong and fulfill a better purpose... for Marlene just a new recruit who would just happen to tragically alter an old commitment... BUT for Ellie, it was THE MOST consequential encounter that would completely upend her previously protected life and the world! Up until that fateful night, the two young women had been roommates, confidants, best friends; actually they meant everything to one another. So Reilly felt she had to make a grand gesture by sharing the experiences at the mall before she left. Subsequently, it's awful to imagine the guilt Riley must have felt, knowing if she never brought Ellie out, she wouldn't have gotten infected. And as they sit and await the end, neither knows that Ellie's immune, so Riley has to believe she's just caused both of their deaths. There's always some speculation about what happens next, but we know Reilly was to be moved the next day for her new QZ assignment when the Fireflies presumably found both and Ellie somehow still intact. Regarding the next episode... just know whatever happens next... happens next... BREATHE... and know the finale is within reach - it's next. Thank you both, for another fantastic reaction!

This was a great episode, the acting was fantastic, even just from the facial expressions alone. Like the look on Joel's when he was trying to make Ellie leave, when she actually left and when she came back, or the look on Ellie's face when she realized she had been bit and then the look on her face when she noticed Riley had been bit, just great acting in this episode. I had been waiting for this episode since the first episode of the season, when Marlene said that line, "was Riley a terrorist" and the look on Ellie's face, I thought well, I definitely want to know who Riley was or is. Also, their is so many things you can understand more or realize the importance of from the season. Like the pun book, which she got from Riley, which makes it mean so much more, that she brought it out and started reading puns to Joel, considering how much it means to her. Also in that same episode theirs the moment in the store when Ellie gets so excited about the old Mortal Kombat II game and talks about the spitting out the bones kill scene or even why she looks and acts the way she did when she stabbed the infected person in the head just after that, when she likely would have been thinking about Riley and then she brought out the pun book right after that. Which honestly makes the episode mean even more than it already did, as the episode was dealing with people finding love, living love and losing love with Bill and Frank, Joel and Tess and as it turns out Ellie and Riley, which we didn't even know at the time. This is a really well made show, great reaction I look forward to the next one.

Jeremy - excellent comments / call back to Ellie’s behaviors in Ep. 3. The knowledge of everything that goes down with Reilly, makes Ellie so real, so good.
