This is one of my all time favorite episodes of Doctor Who. From the beginning he knew the crew was doomed and that he couldn't get involved without there being some kind of consequence, but at this point he has suffered so many losses that he just didn't care about the rules anymore. He finally showed who the Doctor could be if he let himself go, which would be terrifying. Interestingly enough, an evil version of the Doctor was hinted at in an episode of the classic series, and has been mentioned a few times in the current series. The next two parter was my introduction to Doctor Who thanks to my friend who was a fan of it and had me watch it with him when it came out. I've been hooked ever since, and will usually rewatch these two at least once a year because it's so good. I hope you enjoy it just as much as I do.

Such a great episode! David Tennant really let loose his acting chops. When he says “the laws of time are mine and they will obey me!” I always get goosebumps. It’s really interesting how dire and intense everything is. Then the Doctor arrives and solves all the problems in an instant — and you realize the only reason things were that scary was because the Doctor was barely even trying to help. And I love how by the end the Doctor looks mad with power, never before has saving three people been so sinister.
