I hope that this comment doesn't come too late and that you haven't already watched the next episode. I am probably one of the few people to have watched the Haunting of Bly Manor before The Haunting of Hill House. I am not into scary stuff and everyone always told me that Hill House was scarier so I always avoided it until recently when I got to watch it with a group of people that made it easier. Hill House is definitely scarier than Bly Manor. I like both a a lot but I am a bigger fan of Bly Manor. Even though it's not as scary, the story and the ending are better constructed. It's really more of a love story. The answers in Bly Manor come in pieces but they do all come eventually, especially in episode 8. Episode 4 is one of my favorites. We get to know a little more about Dani and what's been haunting her. Haunting really isn't the right word though. The specter of Eddie isn't a ghost per-se, but a poltergeist, a manifestation of Dani's guilt over his death. He only starts appearing outside of reflections as Dani gets closer to Jamie and her guilt worsens until she chooses to confront it by burning his glasses. The next episode has probably the biggest reveal of the whole series. You're going to be awfully confused in the beginning but stick with it. It will make sense.
