River Song has entered the chat Can't wait for you guys to learn more about her. For my money, this episode is where I personally pinpoint the start of my favorite stretch of the series, lasting for the next several seasons.

Yes! You guys made it to fucking River Song! The fan favorite of fan favorites! I’m so glad you guys stuck it out to make it to this two parter. What can I say that hasn’t been said already? The writer for Blink wrote this episode, which I’m sure others have said. I also really like the reversal. Now it’s the Doctor who knows less than a mysterious, dashing, time-travelling figure (River Song). This two parter is my family’s favorite. My dad always quotes “hey, who turned out the lights” randomly. Also, the first time I watched this episode, it was the most wtf thing ever. Between the random little girl, the library, the bizarre future woman with the doctor’s screwdriver… but it all comes together magnificently. Last thing I’ll say: as another person mentioned, this episode all the way to the end of Season 4 is an INCREDIBLE run for David Tennant’s tenth doctor. This last stretch is one of the reasons Season 4 is considered to be one of the best seasons of Doctor Who.
