For me, cringe can be hit or miss. Sometimes it can just make me super uncomfortable like JRabbit, and sometimes I'm on board. That being said, Jenna Fischer's rage as Pam makes this episode work for me. It's so damn funny how hard she commits. I'm also a sucker for any time you can tell something was really fun for the actors, and I think this episode was great in that respect. Jim and Dwight are like Tom and Jerry when they fight but Pam and Michael, it's Leslie and Ron level and the stakes and energy really elevate the episode.
