This episode is incredible. Initially when I saw this episode I was a little put off by the fact that the Doctor was barely in it. The episodes that don’t feature the Doctor are normally referred to as Doctor-lite episodes and they can be very hit or miss. However, this episode just did an outstanding job. I just want to say that I absolutely love the Weeping Angels. They are easily the scariest Doctor Who villains in my opinion. I’d even go as far to say that I love them more than the Daleks and the Cybermen. The Daleks were originally made to be an allegory for the Nazis while the Cybermen were made to be an allegory for Communist Russia when the show first started in the 60s. It was clever for the time if not a little bit on the nose. Now it’s just dated and even more blatantly on the nose in my opinion. With the weeping angels though it all feels original. They provide a great deal of horror to the show. Not only are they super sneaky but they can also teleport you before you can even think of running. It’s honestly genius. If those things were real I’d have a fucking sledge hammer at my side all the time and smash every single one or at least find some kind of way to get rid of them. Leave no stone unturned. Pun intended! Great reaction as always and amazing job with the thumb nail for this episode as well! You guys looked creepy as hell for the image, especially RJ. I swear I mean that as a good thing. Looking forward to the next reaction!

This was the first episode I watched and I did so by recommendation. And there's a reason it's the one they tell people to start with to get their feet wet to the show. It's just so wonderful and original and a bit of a departure from the formula. I've used the comparison between shows before, but to me this is a creative standout much like some of the more groundbreaking, legendary X-Files episodes that were carried by a guest star (the ones with Peter Boyle and Charles Nelson Reilly come to mind in particular. I'm not sure if you guys would remember those but they're similar to this in that they are stand alone gems). Maybe it's a science fiction thing that I'm just picking up on. But it's a wonderful thing where a show shakes things up by focusing us through a different lens and makes for something really special and memorable. I actually now wish somebody would pitch a Weeping Angels spin off, because I'd totally watch that.

One of my favorite Doc Who eps. I love it and I HAAAATE IT. Originally watching this series years ago I thought it was just Sci-Fi, but by the time I watched this as a child, It like really gave me nightmares, mainly from this episode. Edit: Watching the ending comments: You will get more of this feeling going forward.

Many people consider this the best episode of Doctor Who ever. Personally I think there's better to come, but I completely understand *why* it's most peoples top episode. I've been waiting for this one and was excited to watch it along with you. Great reaction you guys. The writer of this episode, Stephen Moffat, also wrote the season 1 two-parter "are you my mummy?" and the Girl in the Fireplace with Madame De Pompedour. Personally I think he's the best of the writers, although he does have the occasional miss. Starting from Season 5, Stephen Moffat actually becomes the lead writer and show runner, so if you like his style of writing you are REALLY going to love what's to come later!

I am so glad you enjoyed this so much; like many others, I have been looking forward to this since you started watching Doctor Who and it's so great that the hype has stood the test of time! Carey Mulligan is awesome, as is David Tennant shining through even his reduced role in this episode. I agree with both of your praise at the end about how wonderful the concept/writing is. Also, you guys had me cracking up, especially when Sally first looked back at the creepy house and the camera panned to each Weeping Angel standing in the windows and he just goes: "Squad." 💀

So this is the episode that if you wanted to see if this show is for someone you show them this one first and if they enjoy it you get them started from the beginning. I had mentioned last season in the comments about Doctor-lite episodes and debatably the best episode of the series is a Doctor-Lite episode and here we are. This is not to say there aren't better arcs but as a stand alone this is pretty brilliant and won a Hugo award which is like the world wide Oscar for Sci-Fi writing. Finally after 2-3 re-watches you still pick up bread crumbs they put in all through the entire episode. Great reaction you two! Thank you!

This was a great episode, one of my absolute favorites, it made me a fan of Carey Mulligan, who when I watched this, I had never really seen in anything before. Steven Moffat Co-Creator of Sherlock along with Mark Gatiss (Mycroft), future show runner of Doctor Who and Creator of another show I really liked, Jekyll, write some really great episodes of Doctor Who, including this one, The Girl in the Fireplace and the 2 parter The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances which had my favorite line, don't really know why maybe it was the delivery "Just this once...Everybody Lives!" as well as more great episodes to come. Great Reaction, I'm glad you both enjoyed it so much, I feel like the next few episodes are also quite good, maybe not quite to this level, but still pretty good, so I look forward to the next one.

Not sure if has been mentioned but the weeping angels never move when they are on screen and the camera/audience can see them so we never see them actually moving, just like the characters. Which I think is a pretty nice touch. Such a great episode.

Yes! You guys got to the episode we were all hinting at lmao! For the record, this is an episode that is commonly used as an entry point for new viewers. I haven’t read all the other replies, so I’ll just say this: this isn’t my very favourite episode, but it IS among the best episodes the show has ever produced in all 60 years of its runtime. This episode is also emblematic of why Doctor Who has such appeal and so many fans. The fact that the show has such a versatile format (you know, British person who can travel anywhere and anytime) means that one day the show can produce mid content, but the next week they’ll come out with an episode that floors you like Blink did. The writers were in their bag for this episode, but there’s plenty of great stuff yet to come.

I was waiting for you guys to get to this episode. Jumping into the full episode reactions going forward as the show gets so good going forward.
