I've always found this to be a so-so episode, I thought it had some interesting ideas at the beginning but then kind of just turned into a monster movie, with underdeveloped ideas. I did like seeing Martha's family and whatever's going on with Harold Saxon, I also loved that Martha is now officially a companion and not just a guest. I also liked that conversation The Doctor had with Lazarus, about what it's like living for so long, losing everyone, watching everything turn to dust and being alone. It was interesting seeing Mark Gatiss, Mycroft from Sherlock in the show, he actually writes several episodes of Doctor Who, including 2 you've already seen, The Unquiet Dead, the third episode of the first season with Charles Dickens and the ghosts and The Idiot's Lantern the episode in season 2 where people's faces were being stolen by the woman in the TV. Anyway, I know this episode was a little difficult to get through for you both, but thanks for the reaction and all the work you put into these and all the other reactions you do. I look forward to the next one.

Last week I almost wrote, please try not to get too caught up in the CGI but didn't want to give spoilers. I'm with you, it's Scorpion King and distracting! Personally I quite like this episode for a couple of reasons, the Doctor gives us some inspirational meme worthy quotes like "some people accomplish more in 20 years than others do in 80." I also really like episodes where we get to see the family dynamic, how they interact with each other, and more importantly how they interact with the Doctor. Martha's Mum is so very different to Rose's mum so it's really refreshing to see that switch up. Aside from those two points, I do agree it's another weaker episode. The good news is, the weak streak is over. As we move into the second half of the season, we have what is probably one of the strongest run of episodes in a row (in my opinion). I'm not necessarily saying these are the strongest episodes, but if I wanted to watch 6 or 7 strong back to back episodes, this upcoming episode is where I'd start. As for the Doctor's "curse" of always having a companion, I proper laughed out loud at that. I think we should make that part of wedding vows moving forward! "Do you accept this curse of marriage, destined to be with a companion for the rest of your life" 😂 Great work you guys, looking forward to the next one.
