It’s terrific news that RTR is moving on to season 5 and will most likely complete reacting to the series. Season 4, although ambitious was a disappointing low point for this once revolutionary comedy, and stopping here would be a bummer. Season 5 was a nice return to form for the Bluths and their shenanigans. Season 4 did however have a very well crafted, subtle, season long in the making joke. It was so subtle, and over so many episodes, many people just missed it. 1. In an early episode, Michael meets Ron Howard in his office where we see the full sized model of Lunar Module (LeM) from Apollo 13. 2. Ron, or narrator Ron mentions that he names his children after their place of conception. Supposedly Bryce Dallas Howard was conceived in Dallas. Rebel Alley, the illegitimate daughter, not stated but perhaps in an alley. 3. Mid-season, Michael finds Gob’s dead dove in Rebel’s freezer. Rebel’s son gets excited thinking there are Dove bars in the freezer. The nanny scolds Rebel’s son-“no Dove bars for you, you’re a Depardieu.” We can infer, the child’s father is famous French actor/jackass Gerard Depardieu. 4. In this episode, it is revealed that Rebel’s son lives with his father in France and is named Lem. Ergo, Rebel and Gerard Depardieu conceived Lem in the Lunar Module in Ron Howard’s office. Just this one joke makes season 4 worthwhile.
