I loved Maghras telling of the four senses story as it sets the basis for some pretty strong internal conflict for the twins and what it really means to be born into this sightless world. Of course a mother would want to protect her children but Mahgra feels disconnected I think as they will see the world in ways she will not and the thought of being denied that inclusion in the journey is why I believe she chooses not to tell the children. Why she hates Jerelemel maybe? Baba Voss is a man stuck between two powerful women; the mother and the wife. Paris seems to understand much more about him than anyone else; “silence isn’t a lie” is both bullshit and truth. Everyone keeps some things to themself. That dude was licking on his aunt proving you get in where you fit in. Everyone hates them so they love each other; nice. What I appreciate is that he has a rather powerful reason to hate Baba Voss; listening and smelling yo mama and aunt BBQ’d for a stranger doth not make an enemy of thee. Baba was intentionally is his personal space to intimidate him. Primates do this a lot, like when someone approaches you while you’re sitting and their eye level with your Prince Albert. It’s to say I’m the man, I’m the dominant, I have the big cahonas. Speaking of the children; Hanaywa seems more interested in the world, curious and not inclined to see her gift her as a curse whereas Kofu is a daddy’s boy and susceptible to their teachings. It can’t be easy being told you are inferior, dangerous, and unnatural in a world that despises you. BowLion, remember the name. Can’t wait for episode 3!
