The Parmesan cheese and mustard sandwich that some characters have been eating is another very inside joke. Martin Mull, who plays PI Gene Parmesan, also played Col. Mustard in the 1985 movie Clue. So it's a tribute to those two character names. What's really funny about it is in the newer Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle where Will Arnett plays the cameraman Fenwick, at one point when April calls him for a ride, you can see him once again making this disgusting sandwich as a callout to AR.
