I love your observation about Barry seeing himself in Mayrbek (the excellent Chechen marksman) as he beams with pride and is celebrated by all his comrades. Bill's subtle acting and microexpressions are next level. Another through-line that appears in this episode is the dropping out of all other sound, leaving only the whistling wind, when Barry feels rage. You see in his eyes when he sees Sam, and earlier in the episode, there's a brief moment of it after Albert gets shot and Barry gets up to survey his surroundings. It's one of my favorite recurring elements in this series. The sound design on this show is amazing, and the very limited and careful use of musical scoring lets moments like these (Barry seeing Sam, Barry feeling anger after Albert is shot in Korengal) really soar. Sooo excited Barry is in regular rotation! 💜
