This was another great episode from a great show. The guy you didn't recognize was in the first episode, he was trying to make a deal with Sevika and others, they were going back on their word, not giving him the money and intending to kill him, then Vander sat down at the table and made sure they made good on their deal. Which is I guess why he felt he owed Violet but he was too addicted to Shimmer. The scientist that Victor was learning from, was the same scientist working for Silco and was the one who created the drug, that can cause the mutations. Until this episode I had assumed he died in the explosion that Powder set off in episode 3.
