On paper the Sam and Rebecca thing seems a bit odd, but even back in season 1 they have little moments where they are friendly. Sam was the one to invite Rebecca to the ceremony where they sacrificed important things to appease the "curse" on the team, and when he first came in Rebecca thought Sam was asking her out, to which he replies that he wasn't but that she is "so lovely". Rewatching that scene now, Sam is such a sweet and engaging character. They have a bit of conversation and then Sam also reminds Rebecca how it is her team, and that she's important to it. With the music they use and the way it's shot, it's easy to feel charmed by their interaction. Which is one of the great things about Ted Lasso - small moments that you barely even think about can lead to such important plot points later on.

This episode is incredible. The scene with Jamie, his dad and Roy in the lockerroom is so powerful. It's one of the most impactful scenes I have seen in a show. The way they have filmed it makes you feel like you're in Jamies shoes. You feel anxious, under attack, disoriented, so uncomfortable. The way his dad abuses him is so real, the acting is scary good. You can see Jamie trying to cope, trying to handle his dad differently, using tools that Sharon probably has given to him. When he hits his dad is not a victorious moment, as it would be on most shows or movies. It's a tradegy. Jamie looks so broken, it's beutifully acted. The moment of victory is when Roy steps up and gives Jamie support. Being the dad that Jamie doesn't have. And Jamie after a second allowing him to hug him fully and letting go. Gah it's so good. And it being the trigger for Ted to open up about his dad, so good.
