I have to admit. Up until this episode, the MCU had REALLY gotten on my nerves lately. I found Black Widow, Shang-Chi, Loki, Falcon and Winter Soldier to be very underwhelming and mediocre at best and WandaVision just put a bad taste in my mouth altogether (Ralph Boner is still the most disappointing and insulting reveal I’ve ever seen in a show). However, this episode of What If was incredible. I am so glad to see the MCU finally do something so mature and never interrupting it with a stupid joke or ham fisted message. It’s story was straightforward, it’s acting was great and it’s tone was absolutely refreshing. I really wish that the MCU will do more things like this but since it’s unlikely at the moment, I’ll take what I can get, and what I got was absolutely amazing.

What If is shaping up to be my favorite of the MCU TV series. This episode is beautifully animated and satisfyingly dark. It reminds me of Batman the Animated Series back in the day.
