i totally agree about their facial expressions and gestures being one of the funniest parts of the show. they are all such good actors that there is often too much going on in one scene to catch it all. always sunny is infinitely rewatchable. they also have some of the best side characters, the maniac very much being one of them

This is one of my favorite episodes had me lmao the whole time and i luv Artemis and Cricket so having them both in this episode was so good. Also watching Cricket get his revenge even if it was short lived was great especially Dee after how trash she was lol.

I think my favorite part of this episode is when Dee was backing out being the desert rose. Frank has the greatest expressions on his face the entire time. And since the camera is focused on Dee it's really easy to miss. RJ, I grew up a wrestling fan (late 80's to early 2000's - Edge, Christian and Angle skits were my all time favorites). And I loved that as soon as Roddy was on screen, you knew who it was immediately. No second guessing, just straight in with "That's Roddy Piper."

This episode was a great introduction for 2 new characters, Ben the soldier (who you might recognise from community where he played subway and he'll even play a recurring role in scrubs later on) and The Maniac who are welcome additions to the list of recurring characters. I always love seeing the Maniac because he is always so bizarre with his trains of thought making even the gang take a step back to try and process it all, looking forward to the next one.

Cricket's life gets worse every time he interacts with the gang, but it was satisfying seeing him get his revenge, if only briefly. Artemis, on the other hand, seems to be the only person immune to the gang's shenanigans (unlike say Cricket or the Waitress), probably because she has the same chaotic energy as them without all the mayhem that they cause on a regular basis. And you'd think Dee would be more sympathetic to Ben the soldier when she saw him in that wheelchair considering she spent most of her teenage years in a backbrace. Then again, if she did that, she wouldn't be Dee Reynolds. Loved all the wrestling references as well. Roddy Piper as the Maniac was awesome!
