Well, you made it to the end of Pierce’s overall run on the show (even if he wasn’t actually there), and such a landmark episode as well. This episode is so much fun and hilarious blast all the way through. This was even the episode that was read through by the cast during their zoom reunion during the pandemic (naturally because it was amazing and probably more because Chevy was never gonna show and it only had a few actors). Pedro Pascal even filled in to read for the attorney when Walton Goggins was too busy to come back. The part in which Pascal read the sperm scene caused him to choke with laughter. While I rather would have preferred that they didn’t kill him off, this is an absolutely perfect goodbye to Pierce. Chevy Chase and Dan Harmon may have hated each other but I’m glad that Harmon was respectful enough to give Pierce a dignified send off. Ok, maybe not exactly DIGNIFIED given that he died by jacking off too much, but it was a great sendoff for more so the character rather than the actor. My fingers are still crossed that Pierce will somehow appear in the Community movie and reveal that he faked his death to “teach the study group a lesson” for another stupid reason. Can’t wait for you guys to get to the next episode. It’s a huge one and a terrific farewell to Donald Glover.

Great reaction!! I always love your guys's Community reactions. I'm going to stare down that YouTube algorithm until it treats you with the respect you deserve ;) That being said. I remember that this episode had a huge drama on the internet. It was in 2013 that Cory Monteith who played Finn Hudson/main lead guy in Glee died in a drug overdose. It was shocking and depressing. So when this episode aired, Donald Glover had made some puzzling Tweets. (it turns out that some of these tweets were related with songs that he had been working on as Childish Gambino) What was really scary though was that prior to this episode of Community there had been these notes from Donald Glover found in a hotel room that said things like he wanted to be on his own, he was scared of a pregnancy at the wrong time, he was scared Dan Harmon would hate him. At the time it worried many people about this and everyone wondered how they could help him as he was in a dark place in his life and the pain of losing Troy was tripled over the fear that Donald Glover might harm himself. Fortunately it all turned out for the best and he went on to create Atlanta and no one hated him and I think he's still friends with Dani Pudi. But the episode was kind of eclipsed with worries concerning Glover's mental health because it's really really hard to be under that much stress as an actor and creator. Anyway, great reaction. Hopefully the BTS about Donald Glover was semi-interesting. There are a lot of things to say in the next episode but I hope you enjoy it. I'm just glad I was part of the *community* seeing these episodes air (pun intended ;))

I love how at the start of that stream, they're like, we managed to get Donald Glover for about five minutes of stream time but he'll have to leave partway through the episode which turned out just to be a joke at his success

I’m so glad you’ve arrived at season 5! It truly is underrated. Some of the best episodes of Community ever are in season 5 and this is one of them. From the costume design for the funeral to the rapid fire banter, the callback to Cooperative Calligraphy and the emotional score at the revelation that Troy is leaving this episode is peak Community. There are some more gems to come! I can’t wait for you to discover them.

Your reactions are always great fun to watch. When you're done with this show you guys definitely gotta react to the table read they did of this episode last year!

This is one of my favourite episodes of the show it just lands every time for me it never fails to illicit a laugh, the reunion they filmed for this episode is great and its worth a watch just to hear Dan Harmon's notes on the episode and his banter with the cast as it gives you a feel for what the atmosphere might have been like on set. My favourite joke in the episode has to be the frozen semen it is just so ridiculously perfect and the repeat for each character makes it even funnier although the line for Jeff was the best for me, Looking forward to the next episode.
