love this episode, even though, yall're right, its low on the comedy. there's just so many good scenes and lines though ("grain alcohol baby"!), and character filling, like mac with his letter to chase. maybe "filler episode" is appropriate here.

The actress who played the judge, Patricia Belcher, has shown up in an amazing number of series, usually as some kind of authority figure like an HR supervisor or a judge. Major League Baseball wouldn't let them use the actual name of the mascot, the Phillie Phanatic, so instead they said "Phillie Frenetic" all the way through, until Charlie described the legal problem while leaving the courtroom at the very end.

I meant to say this earlier. I'll refrain from usually talking about that arc, but - Uncle Jack paying Charlie's mom rent? That is the troll toll, I think. His mom is the troll.

Season 1 call back! "Is that a hate crime?" Guys are the ones who Chased Mac after he punched "the tranny" in the face by mistake. High school drinking episode.

Although not a great episode compared to sunny's standards, there were a number of memorable moments e.g. when Mac says "I don't appreciate being paraphrased. I choose my words very deliberately" or Charlie handing random papers to a frustrated Dennis. Btw, Kudos on catching the numerous times they broke character and secretly camouflaged their laughter. Also, In 2013, Chase Utley replied to the letter Mac wrote and in 2019, Rob McElhenney (Mac) got to play catch with Chase Utley (10 years after this episode was released). Both videos can be found on youtube for anyone interested.

This is probably the weakest of their courtroom episodes but I still always really enjoy it personally it never fails to crack me up, my favourite part is probably the whole sequence involving the gassed up building it has some great Mac moments outside and is followed by the nonsense inside, looking forward to the next reaction.
