This felt like the least Community-ish episode of the whole series to me. The puppet aspect added basically nothing to the central plot, and the whole thing was really just the writers openly saying "these characters are too predictable and we don't know what to do with them now." It had all of the Community formula - genre-bending, musical numbers, alternative art styles, and self-aware references - with none of the heart that makes that all work most of the time. What's crazy is that once S5 started and Harmon returned, only two people from the entire S4 writing staff came back. Everyone else left to write for The Michael J. Fox Show (6.6 IMDB rating, cancelled after one season), which should say a lot about the talent level of these S4 writers.

I love this episode. It's one of those ones that is actually one of the worst rated episodes but I think that might come down do the music? I personally love the music aspect of it and thought this was just a great all around episode. I'm also pretty sure this was around the time that Chevy quit the show. I think they compromised with him to just do some voice lines so he didn't have to interact with everyone else.

This was the episode that made me realize that S4 had lost the magic. I was underwhelmed by a Community episode with Muppets, which was unfathomable to me at the time as they had been so good with genre episodes and I'm a sucker for Muppets. Such a disappointment at the time.

Hot take: I loved this episode. This is probably my favorite episode of the season and probably in my top 20 from the show. A lot of people call this episode the worst from the entire show and I honestly don’t get it. The songs are amazing and the puppets are used greatly. I love the secret song especially with how insane some of the revelations got. One moment you have a kind of mildly surprising reveal with Britta not voting and then you just get Troy revealing that he started a forest fire as a kid. I also love Pierce’s revelation that he never slept with Eartha Kitt. With how much he’s bragged about it, the reveal is honestly kind of brilliant. Overall, I just love this episode and think it gets way too much hate.

I'm sorry but this episode is not for me because I'm not a musical fan and nothing really happened in this episode. The whole episode was about the Group revealing trivial secrets about themselves by singing it from start to finish, For a Muppets episode this was very disappointing.

I love this episode... for totally superficial reasons. I like music. It pretty much always wins me over. That being said, this episode is not really funny imo. The characters barely feel like themselves at moments and the songs are totally uninspired. But points for committing to the format. I just like to hear them sing. We've got some talent on the team... and even with my complaints I still find myself going back to watch this one over and over. It's annoyingly addictive.
