Ok I havent watched the reaction yet... but I actually like a lot of this one. I honestly think the 1st scene, with Britta confusing Sophie B Hawkins and Susan B Anthony, feels more like the 1st 3 seasons of Community than anything we've seen this season. And yea you're right... Abed feels a bit off all season. I really don't think anyone can write for him without Dan Harmon's help. I don't think anyone else truly understands how the character thinks.

I have a soft spot for this episode, particularly because of the ending. Pierce may be the meanest and dumbest member of the study group, but it was amazing for him of all people to decide that Britta deserved a win and call Jeff out on constantly being a jerk to her all the time. I also really liked Abed’s subplot. Brie Larson was a very charming guest star and her interactions were Abed may not have been super funny but still really sweet and I think that’s the best way to describe this episode. It’s not the funniest from the show, but it is still a super sweet episode.

This was an ok episode compared to the last one and Brie Larson was my highlight of this episode and hopefully we will see more of her and Abed together on fun adventures.

I know exactly what you mean about Abed feeling off. I've rewatched Community many times over the years and season 4 Abed is the character that suffered the most without Dan Harmons voice. I can't completely be mad at this seasons writers for it because I think Abed would be the hardest character to write for because of his "social perspective" and how he was a character established as a very meta perspective. Almost as Dan Harmons way to cleverly poke his head into this TV show from behind the camera. Its really fascinating to me actually. And with him gone the writers had a pretty impossible task because Abed is strictly in Dan Harmons head. Other than that I love Brie Larson but she can own any role she's given. Troy forcing highjinks is funny. we get a rare look at Pierce being genuine which is nice to see. Overall a breath of fresh air in a hard season. Luckily the biggest breath of fresh air is right around the corner with season 5 episode 1. Can't wait!

Facts. If Abed's voice is part of Harmon's thoughts, how can anyone else write for him? I trash on the writing a lot for this season, but the truth is they had an impossible task. At least they tried.

It's kinda too bad Larson got as famous as she did, she would've been an awesome recurring character in the later seasons
